I have these. I like them, IMO it's hard to go wrong with Michelin.
They're expensive, but when it comes down to something as important as tires, it's worth it.

I hope this helps.

By the way welcome to AZ. This is an awesome resource. You can find just about anything about your car here. The search tool is awesome. Just go to the area that you're interested in or have questions about and search that forum. I suggest this over searching the overall forum because there isn't a filter and you get all generation TLs in there.

Another great way of finding hard to find information is going to Google and searching for it. I've had to do this several times and the funny thing is I ended up being led right back here to AZ.

I too have the Mich. Great tire except for the wear on the outside edge. The outer tread blocks are made from a softer compound and wear faster than the inside. This is not covered under the mileage warranty as the tire must wear out flat and straight across the tread to be covered for the 45k. I think I got 25k out of them.

However I still run them on both cars, they really are the best all-season tire. Sorry Conti owners.

If you are looking for a good handling tire with the ability for all season traction, the AS+ is a very good choice. If you are not as spirited of a driver, there are other choices that would be longer lasting, more comfortable and quieter....it all depends on the characteristics you value most.

Just hang on to the old tires for now, because there's a new replacement for the Pilot Sport A/S+ coming out from Michelin : Pilot Sport A/S 3.

The A/S3 is said to be even better than the A/S+ in all ways, and is expecting to be available in a couple weeks' time.

This will make the best even better.

Maybe you misunderstood me, or I didn't make myself clear. I have two sets of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. One set was purchased in Jan, the other in Feb of this year.

The set on the RDX [245(45)19] is fairing better than the TL [245(40)19]. I also have a set of dedicated snows for the RDX.
I will not be making any purchases for at least another 20K.

Hey, I also live in Chicago ...and I know its probably not the answer that you are looking for, but depending on how long you're going to keep the car I would invest in a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires; that's what I do on all of my cars. I go by this rule: all-season is good for no-season . Once you try dedicated winter and summer tires, you will never go back to all-seasons. I've actually converted my entire family. With that being said, winter on Blizzaks is a lot of fun and summer on Bridgestone R-11s is also a blast ...plus it's a lot safer, especially in the winter, although you do have to adjust your driving and account for all the people on bald all-seasons.

Do not purchase the Mic AS! They wear really bad as described above. My friend is a Manager at Discount ire and he says they are having tons of issues with hem including chunking. I've had the Conti DWS for three summers now and they are awesome! 65k warranty!

No thank you on the DWS. They just don't compare in the handling dept. I'll stick with the Michelins and shell out the $$$ every year or two. My expectations are too high, I can't stand an "O.K." tire. What would be acceptable performance, as I'm sure the DWS is a fairly good handling tire, just doesn't cut it for me.

The moral of the story is you really can't have the best of both worlds. There will always be a short -comming as a result.

Thus, the uneven tire wear on the A/S Plus.

Just don't drive like a italian and you will not have the issues I had.
Mine are crazy bad because I drive like a mad man, ALL THE TIME.
Drive like a civilized person, save the soft rubber for emergency situations and you will be using the tires in the manner they were designed for.

This dual rubber compound tire technology is the new trend right now, and is using increasingly by other tire makers, especially on high perf. A/S tires which have to compromise dry, wet, and snow performance for the all season capability.

The outside summer compound is for ultimate dry handling, and the inside A/S//winter compound is for optimal wet and snow handling.

With this dual compound tech, the dry/wet/snow performance envelope of A/S tires can be pushed to the next higher level.

As such, I'll rather sacrifice faster outside tire wear for dual-compound A/S tires with much higher performance, rather than buying some lower-performing single-compound A/S tires in order to preserve an even tire wear.

I have a 2010 TL with TECH PKG. Will need to replace OEM Mich's . So far I've heard Conti DWS and Mich Pilots. Anything else I should Look at. Got a dlr quote of 989 for Conti and 1289 for Mich. By the way I live in up-state NY but they do plow the roads quickly.

Not sure what you are after...

High Performance all season
Continental DWS - nice tire , good ride, great all season and solid in snow
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus -Nice tire was good in snow, I found they were slightly noiser than the Continental.
Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position - Liked as dry weather rain however snow was ok. Noise was ok
Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season - Good in rain and better in dry about avg in snow.

- Then again I havent found any all season that is great in snow-

Grand Touring Tire - lower handling however better ride and noise characteristics
Bridgestone Turenza Serenity Plus -Excellent ride and smooth, good all season
Bridgestone Turenza Serenity - good why go with this when the plus is better in snow.
Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring - Havent tested them
Michelin Primacy MXM4 - Bout the same as the Bridgestone

These are all tires I have either tested or drove with.
All depends what you want and your rim size
