Clunking suspension over bumps

Clunking suspension over bumps
Hey guys - new to the forum here. Just traded in my 2005 Honda S2000 and picked up a 6spd 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD.
So I picked up the car with 8 miles and it has about 400 on it so far. No hard driving as I'm still breaking it in. Have any of you guys noticed clunking when going over medium to hard bumps? I notice it on both the compression and expansion of the suspension. Almost sounds like a loose top hat or something of the like? I could totally be overreacting, but I certainly didn't notice this during the test drive and can't imagine a car this nice would have an issue like that. Especially a Honda product.
I have the factory 18's with OEM tires btw.
Any insight is much appreciated.

Just dropped it off this morning. Apparently another TL was brought into the dealership yesterday with the same problem. They are both going to be looked at by the shop foreman on Monday.

^ can you keep this thread updated..I have a 2009 and hear slight clunk's sometimes (especially over speed bumps) and would love to get an idea of what it may be so I can have my dealer check mine too

So corporate says to try another dealership. I really don't have time to keep going from dealership to dealership, hopefully the next dealership I try resolves this issue.
Illi: any luck?

There are several hundred parts involved in the suspension system of a modern vehicle. It might take several visits and many hours to properly diagnose the noise.

Mr marco. You are correct. But its very frustrating when you have to hear dealerships say, "did you purchase the car here...sorry we can't give you a loaner."
The sound is really pronounced at low speeds and roads with multiple bumps, my 2010 tsx is so much quieter over bumps.

Sorry guys. They replaced the front left strut assembly, but the noise still remains. I will be bringing in back in for service next week.
Has anyone called Acura directly regarding this issue?

Clunking Suspension
Sorry to learn you are still having the problem. I have a 2012 TL with 17" tires and 2300 miles but other than experiencing a quite firm ride quality, no evidence of clunking. Good luck on your pursuit of a solution.

i have the same issue with my 2010 AWD, im starting to think maybe its just the different suspension between the FWD and AWD because when i drove a FWD loaner it didnt do this but we AWD guys have a sportier suspension dont we? it clunks over small to medium bumps in the road

my 2010 awd clunks on some bumps too but not all.anyone follow up with this at the dealer?is it just the firmer awd suspension?almost seems to me the stabilizer bar bushings or the links are to firm and do not give enough over certain bumps and can feel it trasfer into and threw the car.the awd does have a bigger sway bar than the fwd right?

I have the same issue. Driving out of my neighborhood daily over street cracks, and it sounds like a muted "pop" or thump. I only seem to hear it when driving below 40mph. Annoying as hell - never had a car that made that sort of sound over minor bumps. I've reported it twice to the dealer and they said everything under there (rear suspension) was tight. I had one of their loaner cars - same year TL as mine - and it made the same exact sound, so I agree with others that it may be a characteristic of the car. Frustrating.
