Choosing speed rating for Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+
I知 planning on purchasing for 13 6MT the Michelin AS3+ soon but was wondering which speed rating would be better.
The oem mxm4 is 96v and I知 thinking of choosing that for the AS3+ when I replace the oems.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Unless you're going to be tracking the car, pretty much any tire in the size which will fit will have more than high enough of a speed rating for anything you're doing to be doing here in North America.

I would just go with V rated like the OEMs. I do think that the lower speed rated tires are a little softer. So it's up to your driving. I'd still stick with OEM specs though.

Auto's are limited to 125MPH, not sure about the 6MT. Anything 125+ will be absolutely fine.

Not sure if you have already purchased your tires. I have AS3 100Y XL that were purchased on Tirerack. I love the stickiness on it, but it does right considerably harder than the Mxm4 9V.

Today I just purchased the A/S 3+ 245/45/18 96v to replace the oem mxm4.
For some reason my speedometer is reading faster than what I知 actually driving by 10-15 mph.
What could be the issue, considering the size is the same as the oem?

That kind of delta between indicated and actual is huge and cannot typically be caused by tires. Said another way, you would have needed to put something like 245/20 R18 tires on your car, assuming they existed, to cause that level of a speedometer error.
