4g lowered on Tein street advanced with stock sized wheels

Finally lowered my car, the front sits a little higher than the rears but you dont really notice it unless you eyeball the car. I have no finger gap in the rear and half a finger in the front. I did drop the rears lower then the front by about 1/4". I have no rubbing on the fenders at full turn and the car doesnt bottom out over bumps. My wheels are 245/45R18 offset 35mm. The coils are set to full stiff and are still comfortable. I did play around with the dampening but im happy with full stiff, the wife is also fine with it and my son doesnt seem to mind. Overall im happy with the drop and how the car handles. I havent got a chance to really test it out but im going for an alignment soon, the rears do have a bit of camber but im looking to just fix the toe for tire wear. I like how it sits and hopefully i wont need a camber kit.

i've been looking into the SA Z as well.
how does the full stiffness setting compare to the OEM?
are you able to dial in a 1 finger gap in the rear? or is that the highest setitng already?

I ended up setting the fronts to 3 and rears to 0 (full stiff) its really comfortable and feels like stock but handles much better. Even setting them full stiff it was good i may end up switching it back to 0F/0R. and yes i can raise it back up to have 1 finger gap i personally prefer having no gap though.

Full stiff is great when on smooth roads. Drive down a crappy road though and its a different story lol

I lowered the front some more but the car sits at higher its been around 4 days do they need to settle again?

I turned the locks the wrong way i fixed it today im 26" front the ground to the endof the fender ill get pics up soon

Added a splitter and lowered it to no finger gap in the front to match the rears.

Looks really great man! Everything is working well together, the splitter is an awesome addition. Wish I could get one but I'm sure I would tear it off within a month lol. When you going to come to Niagara? My car is screaming with the magnaflow mufflers. I put in a tank of 94 octane and it sounds crazy!

Thanks man im extremely happy with how the car looks now, And yeah im a little worried about winter. I will probably take the splitter off for the winter. If you want a splitter Andrew (insta: thiccology) is selling a unused splitter for the 4G its smaller than mine but it still looks nice. And soon man im going to install my hfpc's then i will probably drive down. Im thinking of doing a true dual setup. How much louder is it with the magnaflows and which ones did you get?

I might have to consider that splitter. It's risky with these driveways around here and being lowered. True dual sounds cool what all would that involve? I would say with the 94 lately it's almost twice as loud as before. But hard to tell exactly. What they really did was change the tone to be much much deeper and rumbly. I got the ones everyone recommends the straight through 11225 model magnaflows

I think if i go with the true dual set up i will have to get those mufflers or add 2 more resonators to keep it tolerable. Im contacting a shop about installing my hfpc, and doing a mandrel bent true dual with an H-pipe or x-pipe depending on price. There is a guy who did the same thing for his accord and got some good gains from it but it was apparently super loud. And for driveways i only reverse into mine and i don't even try going into other peoples. So far i've only scraped twice and it was very minor.

Since we're already off topic lol I'd be down for a cruise to Niagara. I'm hoping to put in a borla setup somewhat soon. I also may need to change out my precats this year as well.
Yeah, i could never pull off a front splitter like that. I scrape at stock height on my own driveway if i go straight out already...

Also, i've always put in 94, with an occasional tank of Shell 91 V power. I don't notice any change in sound. I notice a change in my gas mileage, and power though.

Sorry to divert this further off topic, but what change are you seeing in gas mileage and power with 94 octane? Is it noticeably better? I been pumping 91 on my stock 6MT.

dopeboy1 07-18-2019 11:13 AM

I feel like I've noticed a little bump in power with 94. Noise could just be in my head but I think its a little louder and crackling a little more too. Its defiantly worth it to grab some 94 when your almost empty and see for yourself.

Unknownerror0010011 07-18-2019 11:59 AM

I actually did a test on this i used Petro 94 for 1 year and then switched to Shell 91 for 1 year. I found that the shell gave me better fuel economy. Power wise there really isnt a difference. I prefer to use shell 91 because it doesnt contain any ethanol while petro achieves its 94 rating by using fuel additives. Ethanol free fuel means your fuel system should be cleaner then running gas with ethanol. At the end of the day its really whatever you want to use if you like petro stick with it, if you like shell stick with that. As for added exhaust noise by switching fuels, it could be that your mufflers finished breaking in at the same time you filled up. Anyways i don't want to crowd this thread with too many off topic posts, so if you guys want to make a thread to talk about gas that would probably be better.

Teddybear 07-18-2019 12:57 PM

It's been years since i've used non-shell 91... but back when i switched, i remember getting about 50 more KM's out of a tank?
But fuel in Canada is pretty bad... i can feel a difference between winter gas and summer gas. And i don't even bother with Esso. Their 93 feels like 91 elsewhere, but you pay more.
Yes, Petro 94 has ethanol. But i know some tuners prefer 94 over shell 91. Can't remember the reason, maybe it was more stable?

Looks good.

So my shocks are starting to go. What's the highest setting on the Tein SA's? I don't really care for lowering too much. Even 1/2" is enough for me. I just want a stiffer ride than stock.
For the Tein SA, does the ride height setting determine spring preload?

Yes the ride height determines pre-load for the SA and i think the highest setting drops the car around 1/2".
