255/35/20 a stretch?

are 255/35/20 tires on a 20x10 rim a stretch, if so how mild is it? not really liking the stretch look.. also if it is a stretch, how safe is it?? I understand different tire brands stretch differently but just looking for the general idea of how much of a stretch it would be.

going with this setup on my 09 tl sh-awd

front: 20x8.5 +35 tires at 245/35/20 Diameter Variance: 0.27%

rear: 20x10 +35 tires at 255/35/20 Diameter Variance: 1.30%

thats less than the 3% recommended diameter variance so the setup should be fine for the awd system?

not going to mod the car in any way: no fender rolling/ or lowerring

Nope. That will be very very mild if even noticable.

alright and even if it is a very mild stretch it is still safe right?

and the setup looks fine for the awd system with stock height and no fender roll?

Yes. It's safe. You can even go 225/35 on a 8.5.

I would do the 20x10 front and rear. That offset will fit perfectly up front. Im running a 20x10 245/35 +28 up front. No issues.

also if you put wider wheels upfront you will decrease your turning radius..

mike, if you have a tire size that is bigger than a 245.. you are reducing your turning radius.. not specific to just the wheel as the wheel is not touching the ground, your tires are..

you can ask any true performance shop, they will tell you that going above stock recommended tire size width will decrease your turning radius.. you certainly dont expect it to be the same when you change the dynamics of a car do you?

I believe that the tire specs on tirerack will include recommended wheel size.

I see what u mean, man. I just went off doing lock to lock turns in my car; they didnt rub and made u turns with the same ease as 8.5" fronts.

But you know your shit, that's for sure!

How and why would larger tires decrease the radius?
I would think they would increase the radius.
What am I missing?

Ok i been reading on here for the last 6 months about wheels. I finally found what I want. My only issue is not sure whats a safe with size. 2011 SH-AWD AND I do plan on lowering it but only to a point where I don't have wheel to frame gap. I am going 20's but I was hoping 20x10 all around. any advice on offset? i seen 35's but again its seems all over the place.
