Sunroof/Moonroof Does Not Close

This is for my brother's car. When his sunroof is open and only is warm weather, his sunroof will close halfway and then re-opens, as if it was blocked.
It looks like that spring loaded arm is causing this, because if he holds it down with his hand, the sunroof will complete the closing without any issues. Otherwise it will re-open as soon as it touches it.

We tried greasing it without any improvements.

Has anyone encountered this?

I've had it happen to me a handful of times too, but it seemed to fix itself and hasn't happened in a while. There is actually a service bulletin for that exact problem, but I haven't had to perform the repair yet.

PDF for the service bulletin is below:

Dealer greased it and it was fine. You may have missed a spot.

I've had the same problem with my 2013 RDX. I just cleaned the railings from the old grease and lubricated it with some fresh one. It took a few manual open/close cycles for the automatic close to start to function again, but the problem is now fixed. No need to change the railings (or the drain channel) as mentioned in the service bulletin, and i didn't have to reset the motor either.
