Removing "A" Pillar garnish?

I've exhausted all means and patience trying to safely remove my A pillar interior garnish in order to change my factory tweeters. There seems to be some sort of strong clip at the top and I don't want to damage the clip or pillar garnish. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

When I had the dealer replace the tweeter, under warantee. They ordered the tweeter but did not order the clip (s). As a result, I had to go back a second time get it done. The service tech said that it is more than probable that he would break the clip when taking the pillar trim off. I dont think these parts a very expensive. I would recommend ordering the clips and then install the speaker. Check out bernardi parts to see the part numbers as below.

dont pull out on the a-pillar u actually have to hit it with a rubber hammer exactly where the "" side air bag "" logo is there's a crushable clip behind it and it's a one time use clip that u have to replace it after removing it

Hi SSGHutch,

I am going to hardwire a dash cam in my 4th Gen TL. Can you describe the steps to remove it? Where were the clips, etc? Thanks.

If you pull back the rubber seal along the top of the A-pillar, you'll see a notch or indent on the edge of the metal body frame. This marking shows where the breakable clip is located near the top of the A-pillar.

You'll need a rubber hammer to hit the A-pillar, directly on the breakable clip, so as to break apart the clip and release the top portion of the A-pillar. You'll have to buy a new clip in order to reinstall the A-pillar properly.

There's another clip near the middle/bottom of the A-pillar. This one you can just pull out and reuse.

Sorry, my mistake.

The marking tab is on the top edge of the A-pillar cover itself, not on the metal frame like I said earlier.
