Passenger Airbag Light Backwards

I have my car in for service last week and they had to remove the passenger's seat. Now whenever my girlfriend sits in it the light comes on telling me the passenger airbag is off. When no one is sitting there the light goes out. I realize it should be be off when no one is sitting there but it should not be on when someone sits there. What could be wrong?

When I start the car with an adult passenger, the "passenger airbag off" light comes on?

It goes off after a few seconds.

Doesn't seem right?

Shouldn't I see the normal SRS airbag light?

I never see the "OFF" light come on - when is it supposed to be on?

This is correct. At first it didn't make sense to me either but there's a section of the manual that explains this. There's also another thread floating around here that discusses this at length.
