I have the same exact noise. From my research, the most likely culprit is the Tensioner. Mine started to emit that noise right after heavy rains. I haven't verified this noise by a dealer, but from reading other posts and videos, that seems to be the problem.
Did you have your water pump, timing belt, etc. serviced? -DeL |
Hey, I have the same problem with a 2010 shawd. I've also noticed that the noise stops when i hit the gas pedal while driving. Do you experience the same thing?

this happened to our 2012 tl shawd. it is the tensioner. it was a pricey fix at the dealer but my wife was adamant about it being fixed.

Sounds like a worn tensioner and/or belt. Both are easy to replace yourself. Don't let the dealer rip you off. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, buy the OEM parts online, take them to an indy shop, and say here, put these on. 0.5 hrs labor.

price was about $350 usd here in texas.

If the noise is only during the morning/cold, it's pretty easy to test the tensioner. take a spray bottle or a light stream of water and wet the belt. Noise there or change of noise usually means something's wrong w/ your tensioner (too much/too little tension)

2010 SH-AWD. Just had mine looked at the dealer and being told its the tensioner. will get it replaced when the part arrives.
