LED DRL Stopped Working (UG!)

Installed LED 9005 from Putco. The look great when installed but now the DRLs don't work anymore after 24 hours. Could it be a fuse? I am going to swtich back to my halogens to test out later when I have time. I am hoping I didn't blow up some electrical components.

Thanks. I found this as well. Led DRL - Page 4 - Acura MDX Forum : Acura MDX SUV Forums

I am going to test it out with a new fuse and double check my connections to the LED as well.

Did you install a relay?

I picked up this unit: Free Shipping To Canada And Usa For Putco 289005 - Silver-lux Led Kit - 9005 Pair | Tdot Performance

Is the Anti-Flicker Harness the same as the "Relay"? I didn't install the Anti-Flicker Harness. It appears to work first but stopped working in a day or 2. I checked the fuse and replaced it. Still down. I will Anti-Flicker Harness to see if it works tonight.

The fuse fixed it. I may quickly install my anti flicker module. It appears the DRL relay prevents flickers and my PUTCO came with it.

Finally really figured it out. It was NOT the fuse. I have to park my car on an incline so I had the hand brake on. When I start the car, the brake is on, DRL is off until I turn off hand brake!!!

HA! I took me an hour and the help of Google to figure this out. Glad I'm not the only one. I'm digging your Fog/DRL mods. Thinking about going in that direction.

I am glad it helped! The LEDs make a huge difference in the look of the TL. The design has not aged so upgrading to LEDs keeps it modern looking.

Im on the hunt for LED DRL and Vleds is sold out and backorderd at the moment... This being said i'd have a few question concerning your kit. What are the Ks of your DRL kit? Are you able to use the highbeams as well? Could you post a couple pics of them running on daylight?

Thanks mate!

I have posted pictures here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...-953482/page2/

If you go back a page, you can see what I bought form T dot performance. Save money and don't get the anti-flicker module, you don't need it. Just plug in the bulb and that's it.

Putco should be 6500K white color temperature. IN terms of hi-beam, it looks pretty good. Again, the post above has info on it. These newer modern bulbs are pretty good.

1. Try to get a weave heat sink. There are no moving parts to breakdown.
2. Have a 7.5 fuse just in case there is a problem with the DRL not working later.
3. LEDs are the way to go. The technology has changed a lot in the last 3-5 years. They are much now much brighter than the halogens. Don't buy cheap ones, you pay for what you get.
4. DRL in low and high beam is still pretty bright compared to halogens.

1. Plug in the old Halogen bulbs and see if it works or not.

a. Working - Check harness/decoder/anti-flicker module.
b. Not working - check fuse.

I did a lot of research on LED for DRL and Fogs and I choose Putco with ribbon heat sink (no moving parts). It didn't need a 'decoder/anti-flicker module''. I just plugged it in and it worked. Running since April 2017 without issues in harsh Canadian Winters.

2. Make sure you don't have the parking brake on. The parking brake will turn off the DRL until you put it in Drive.

Ok here’s what’s going on. I only get 1 led bulb to come on only when I plug my halogen bulb in. When both leds plugged in I get nothing. I reversed bulbs to see if I had a bad led bulb I don’t. So both leds are good but only get 1 to light up if I plug halogen up but when halogen is plugged up only the other led lights up. Driving me crazy!!
