DRL/ Highbeam issue

Alright guys, i have a little problem. My passenger side DRL and highbeam function has stopped working. its only the passenger side. I reinstalled my OEM halogen bulbs and the problem is still there. I have a feeling the control unit has gone out. Im trying to get a hold of the dealership, they're super busy today so i don't know how much luck ill have there.

does anyone know where the control is located? thanks for any help.

Yea i did check the fuse. its a single fuse for both. When the fuse is unplugged the error light goes away with it. but the high beam still doesnt work.

Maybe you should try and unplug the bulb and check the connector for bad connection or burnt wires too just incase....what did you have before you replace the oem stuff??

dealer is your only option.. or you can check with a volt meter to see if its actually getting any power.

I did check the connectors and cables. everything checks out ok. I had LED bulbs in for over 2 years and didnt have this problem. so i dont know if thats what caused it. I just got off the phone with my dealer and i have an appointment for monday.

i would suggest that if you go into dealer, swap out any LED bulbs you have installed in your car to stock.. they can easily blame it on your aftermarket electronics....

its just better to have it ready for them so that they dont have anything to say...

yup. Ive read the horror stories. people took their cars to the dealership and they lost their warranty because the dealer found aftermarket stuff.

I already changed the bulbs to stock, so i should be OK. thanks for lookin' out though

BTW does anyone know where the control unit is located in our cars. ive been reading that the older models have a dedicated unit for the DRL is this still the case?

If you find a relay that controls that lighting and you know how it works(#30,#87,#85,#86)then you can remove said relay and try to trigger the lights from that point with a few wires to see if it works(but only if you understand how to do it without messing up).."PLEEZZZ DONT IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO"
