Door unlocking issues
hello all...was wondering if anyone can give me advice or have seen this issue before. i searched the manual and other posts but no luck. any help would be appreciated.
so I have the following:
2012 TL SH-AWD MT
all doors set to lock at vehicle speed
all doors set to unlock at ignition off
i was dropping my wife off at the curve when i used the master lock/unlock button to unlock her door. the engine was running, i did have my foot on the breaks, and i was in neutral. she tried to open the door and no luck. her door lock was indeed in the unlock position. also, she tried locking and unlocking again but no go. I also tried using the master lock/unlock button but same thing. I finally relocked everything and shut off the engine and the door did what it was suppose to, unlock. just to add, this happened several times and i ended up opening the door from the outside. the front passenger door behaved like there's a child safety lock. i thought those were just in the rear doors.
so i tried again when i got home and found that that if the engine was running and i was in neutral, i have to engage the parking/emergency break so the door will unlock manually. I'll have to recheck this behavior but has anyone seen this behavior? is this a problem that i have to get checked?
thanks

I'll double check, but I think the setting on the MT is to unlock the doors when the e-brake is pulled.

prob may be a safety intentially set up- to keep the door from unlocking while still in gear
system can be set up to unlock when in park or when ignition is turned off--can do either driver's door or all doors

lenwus...yeah i was in neutral but with the care running, foot on the break.
it seems the key is to engage the emergency brake and the door can be open manually, even with the ignition on.
