Access to Nav Display

I searched & didn't find an answer to this question, so here goes...

I would like to pull my Nav display from my 2010 w/tech package. There are some really annoying spots on the inside of the plastic faceplate that I would love to clean.

I looked at the Chilton manual and it does provide instructions to access Nav unit and display. In order to access both, it is necessary to remove the side trim from left and right side of the center console and also the center vent. It looks to me like I can leave the side trim pieces in place and only remove the center vent, as I only need to access the display.

Am I right?

The fewer pieces of trim I have to remove, the less chance there is for me to mess it up....

Someone posted in the 4G section a link to the 2009-10 service manual. It has the information you request.
