Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have traded my 2009 G37x for 2013 TL SH-AWD Elite package. The car has 65,000 km (40,000 mile). I love the car so far.
I tried to test the strait line acceleration compared to my G and found that, the car shift from first to second gear at 6000 rpm. No matter what I do, it shift at 6000. I tried to use normal drive mode, sport mode, shut traction control off, use paddle shifter and nothing changed the shift point at 6000 rpm. Also, when using the paddle shifter, the car shift by itself from first gear to second gear.
Is that normal for this car? Is there any tranmission software available to help improve the shift point? Thanks in advance.

 

Weird I am going to check tomorrow and see where mine shifts at.

Wife said 6400ish. I will do more tests when I get to drive my car. Oil change her car is getting it done so I drive the pos rental in the snow until friday night

Ok I finally got my car back from my wife. So I went into a college snow filled parking lot. In Sport manual (6AT) 13 TL SHAWD Advance (Elite). Each time in 1st gear with 1 on. Did it like 10 times before security came. I got a shift point 6300 ish. Have no idea which firmware (not sure what they call it) the transmission /torque converter has. Mine has never been updated since 2013 to my knowledge, bought it new. Guy I know in the complex has 2012 FWD version going to see what he gets it too.

 

That's intersteing. Not sure wht my car shift at 6000. Does your car shift by itself from 1st to 2nd gear when using sport mode and paddle shifter? My car also shift by itself, so I have no control over it.
