2012 FWD TL transmission bounce...possible torque converter issue?

Hey everyone, my wife got a 2012 TL CPO with 30k miles in march, so we have an extended power train warranty for 100k or until 2019 and a bumper to bumper until 2017.

Anyway, I noticed that when accelerating from a dead stop, the car feels like it bounces forward and backwards quickly in the lower gears (1 through 3). It doesn't do this every time, but usually when being a bit light on the gas pedal.

I did a search on the forums and it seems indicative of a torque converter issue, but the TSBs only list the years when the TL used the 5AT.

The car is otherwise great, I just don't want to have tranny issues and would rather get it fixed earlier than later...also does anybody know if the replacement is actually a replacement part or them just putting in the same part #?

Thanks!

bring it to the dealer since you have an extended warranty you shouldnt have to worry about any diagnostic charges.

I test drove a 2012 TL FWD back in January. It was a beautiful blue/grey metallic with light grey leather and was in great shape. I really wanted that car. When taking it for a test drive, I noticed a serious tranny issue when accelerating lightly from a stoplight through 1st and 2nd gears. It sort of slipped/grinded its way into 2nd gear and rocked back and forth for a second between gears. I got back to the dealer (used car dealer who specialized in cars that had carfax issues if you know what I mean) and told him it had tranny issues and it should go back to the dealer. He called his mechanic in who said it was at the dealer and they updated the software to fix it and that was all they could do. Bottom line, it must have been the TC and the car was still on their lot a few months later. You should take it to the dealer and get it fixed while it is under warranty.
