2010 Acura TL

Hello all, my car, Acura 2010 TL, is having issues.

To start, with the least worrisome, as the revolutions reach 3-5k, I hear a chchchchchchchch sound before it shifts. this only tends to happen when going uphill at higher revolutions.

Secondly. My car has been dying on the road. It happened yesterday, I was entering the freeway, going slightly uphill, when all of a sudden the car just turned off. it flashed me with VBA system check or something like that, and this is nothing new. it has happened before. we have dumped thousands of dollars at the dealership trying to fix this car. What happens when I try to start it up again, is the brake gets all tense as the ABS isn’t working and when i press my push to start it does nothing. To get around this, I hit my steering wheel with my hand, open the door and close it, and just fiddle around enough while keeping on clicking the push to start where it eventually will start.

Finally, often when I put my car in park. it will just turn off without me turning it off.

I am happy to provide any extra information if necessary. I’ve had many trips to the auto shop. nothing ever works. what a waste of money. please help me

Has the Accelerator Pedal Position sensor been ruled out as the cause of the car "just turning off"? My '07 TL turning itself off and displaying the error message you state was caused by a bad APP sensor. Fortunately after a while it started up again and I was able to take it to get checked out..

I have not ruled that out, however it seems to be more of an electrical issue. The very first time cut power we had it towed. figured it was a battery issue and had it replaced. It was fine for a while but then the first issue we ran into was that the car wouldn’t start after turning it off and getting back into it, (say next morning, or after getting food, etc.) I saw somewhere in this thread about hitting the steering wheel and it shakes some node into place. When it won’t turn on, it displays a amber key on the dashboard display. I would turn the electrical on, turn the electrical off, and try to start it again from off. sometimes hitting the steering wheel would work as I got mad one time, and hit the steering wheel, and it turned back on. that’s how i learned to do that in the first place. If it still wouldn’t start, I would just keep trying until it eventually will. my car has never not started after one of its episodes, beside when i first got it towed.

Brought it to acura, and they “fixed” something, but it never changed anything. It eventually went away for a while but now it’s starting back up again, I am not sure if it is from loss of fuel, or loss of power. but one thing to note is I do have subwoofers in the back. Alternator is fine we made sure to have the auto shop check that.

Also to note, the car turning off when I put it in park is a new occursnce as of yesterday. it has done it twice.

when the car won’t start, and i press the button to turn it off, this appears

this is what happens when it won’t start. it stays in the electrical mode and tells me VSA SYSTEM check or something
