Lightbulb WDP painted grill survey (beak or all)

Hi Guys,

I know this subject is an overkill but I will be getting my front grill painted next week and I'm still debating in between painting the whole grill or just the beak leaving the surrounding chrome. Price difference is slim at the dealer and has no impact...425$CDN just the beak and 550$CDN whole grill...Car is White diamond pearl and I know theirs a difference in lighter colour vs dark.

Please post pictures to help me decide if needed...

IMO, white on wehite doesn't look great.

I would either not paint it or paint it carbon silver to offset it, and match the wheels.

Bazoulay, I would suggest painting the inside of the grill and leave the outside brushed trim OEM.

Carbon Silver...mmm....You mean Gun metal like...Wonder what that would look like...I always like the fact that White blends in very well with that grill...If I go darker, might stand out to much...

Do you have any pictures?

On the WDP color, I just like the beak painted. I think dark color cars look better with the whole thing painted. Here is a link to look at my car's grill with the WDP.
I would shop around as well, I got the beak on my car painted for $140.00 at my Dealer.

140$ at the dealer? Is this US$...Also did you get your clear bra as well at this price? If not at the dealer, not sure if I trust that the job will be done correctly...

Thanks for the pictures...It does look great so far just the beak...

I color matched my front grille, so it is basque red pearl.

Yes, $140 US. Here's the story, the body guy at the Dealer told me $160 and I told him I was paying with cash so he said ok then give me $150. Went in my wallet and had $140 and he said that's fine. So I think I was lucky, but they are quoting you waaay too much if you ask me.
And no it did not include the clear bra. That was done by a local detail shop. That was $125 and I think I got ripped off on that.
Same place quoted me $700 to to the front bumper cover and the 2 pcs above the headlights. Went to another recommended shop and they charged me $350.

You know what I would bet would look good and have not seen one is the painted white beak with the chrome surround and have the chrome trim pc for the trunk as well.
But I don't think you can buy just the chrome surround without the beak. Maybe someday on E-Bay?

Carbon silver rear grille, not the factory rear grille, all you had to do was read the posts before and you would know lol

O.K., so I assume the advantage of the carbon silver is no water spots while retaining the silver trim, correct? Otherwise, why paint it?

Because it is carbon silver and not brushed aluminum, it is a different color and yes it will not water spot and look ugly.

I think that's a great alternative. A lot cleaner look.

so I guess no one recommends the total grill to be painted...If anything, I should get the beak done? Anyone has pictures of the beak in WDP...?

You know what bazoulay.

Get the beak just painted, then you can always paint the whole thing.

The problem is if you add the whole grille white, it will be white overkill on the front end and you will need to blackhouse your lights to have a constrast

Ya, I get ya...I think I'm done considering the total paint...Maybe the beak would be nice...I will however shop for a better price as the dealers rip you off...If you can do this for 250$ I will have to look deeper...Nexson, where are you located?

There are some really good pictures of WDP cars with the grills painted on the attached thread. Looked at this when I was trying to figure mine out to.
