WHAT THE HELL IS WITH ALL THESE TYPE S BADGES?

you didnt delete anything... you added more than what it had.... one on each side and one on the trunk.

why would anyone replace the SH-AWD badge with a type-s on a 4g is beyond me... take it off man.. your embarrasing all the 4g owners..

i know its harsh to hear.. but that's the sad truth..

remove the k&n sticker too..

Do what you want its your car...........but I agree with pot. The added type s badges don't look good on a 4G.

If you want a clean look on the rear, remove the Acura, shawd, and type s badges.

I'm surprised by recent posts at the popularity of turtle products, you get what you pay for applies big time to their lineup. This ain't the military, remove the extra badges, they make an otherwise clean car look tacky.

I have to agree with what the others have said, you really should remove the Type S badges from the car.

As far as the K&N decals go, if you want them on the car that bad find a space somewhere in the engine bay.

You have a really nice and clean TL but IMO these badges cheapen an other wise very nice car.

Same here... I would take off the type s badge and the K&N decal. If you are looking to personalize your car, I would look elsewhere beyond badges and stickers. I think the Ron Jon grill looks great and you could update your wheels and possibly even a lip kit.

Otherwise, you have a great looking car.

Thanks for taking ur time potmilks to ruin the post and taking it into different direction
But i didnt asked u about the type s decal in this post

I know u are a senior member but its my car i will do what i want on it
For ur kind info there is a A-SPEC model up here in canada as well
And the type s decals look as they belong to the car
I know k&n is a overkill but who cares i dont mind them

Ultimately it is your car and you can do whatever you want with it. Whatever makes you happy and what you think looks good is the most important factor.

However, I am just assuming you made this thread so that members of this forum can comment and express their opinion? If not, I am not quite sure as to the point of this thread.

Yes, it's your car and you are free to do with it what you want...but don't post pics on an internet forum then get upset when people post their opinions.

yes it is available is canada

I posted this thread to talk about cleaning and polishing the car and not about that type S Decal anyways
IF some members dont like its there problem , i don't agree with that

only thing I want to recommend here is the use of Turtle wax Ice polish
that stays on ur car wash after wash

and I was surprised when I went to get 3M clear film on the hood and they had a hard timie sticking it on there becoz of the layer of synthetic polish on it and they had hard time taking polish off

that surprised us how good this polish is
and you guys may agree with me on the shine u see on a 4 year old car from this harsh alberta snowy weather and salty slushy winter roads.

thats all guys and you probably havent noticed the blacked out area near the exhaust tips

there is a aspec in canada.. i think its just wheels and lip kit added to the package..

also to the OP, its a forum, you post pics to get people to look at it and judge it.. thats what i did..
if your going to stick with the badges.. i suggest something more subtle..

it would look better in black.

also that turtle wax your using is no good, id give it a few days before protection wares off.. use some zaino's or some black fire wet diamond.. those are much better products.

a lip kit should look great on your car.

What is Turtle Wax Ice Polish? Is it a polish, wax or is it an AIO?

BTW, looks like you neglected to cleaning your wheel wells. It's a PITA to get your hands in there due to the tight space, but I think it should be cleaned and dressed in my opinion.

I don't know how some of you guys with lowered 4G's get in there. In stock form, it's already pretty tight.

I agree... Maybe just keep the Type S badge on the back... But like you said, its your car and you can do what ever you want to it.

But if I decided to plaster SH-AWD stickers on my TL, then post a pic on this forum, no matter how much I liked it I would expect to get RAILED for doing that.

Would like to hear your thoughts on durability of the Ice.

Recently, I have heard good things about Blackfire BlackIce but its pretty expensive at $150. I have had good results with Meg's ULW and Wolfgang DGPS 3.0. Going to try out Pinnacle Souveran sometimes next month. However, it seems like Collinite 845 is very popular too and seems to be the go to wax for many.

^^ 845 is my go to wax especially during the winter.. Great durability, just make sure you put it on thin.

^^ I also use Collinite 845 and LOVE that product! I use the Mother (step2) as a base and get a deeper shine and remove any contaminant on the paint, then apply the Collinite after and couldn't be happier.

That being said, wax and washing supplies are very subjective and at the end of the day, its whatever works for people and how much people want to pay, accessibility to the product, etc.

I will say that I am curious about Zaino as I hear lots of good stuff on that too....

Collinite 845 for summer use and collinite 476 super double wax for winter use, you cant go wrong. I also like Nattys wax for summer use it doesnt last really long but its super easy to apply and remove if youre short on time. Always claybar in the spring before that first summer wax.

As far as turtle wax is concerned id never use anything from them theyre on armouralls level.

When I bought Meg's ULW, I seriously considered 845. Not that it will break the bank buying both but I had 2 other waxes in my arsenal at the time. I went to ULW instead because the ease of use and that it does not stain trims. One thing I hate doing is taping off trims when its only a wash and wax.

When I looked into 845, it was described as a carnauba based and I assume it was some sort of a hybrid wax and wasn't sure if it would stain trims. I am unaware of any carnauba based wax not staining trims. Based on your experience, does it stain trims?

ULW and I believe Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 as well doesn't stain trims. This was a big selling point for me. My current favorite is DGPS as it almost rivals carnauba waxes in terms of looks. It's close to Meg's Gold Class Plus carnauba in terms of looks and since it is a sealant I am expecting good durability. It's only been 2 weeks since application of DGPS on my car so I can't really comment on durability.

I am dying to try the Blackfire as I have heard so many good things.

Ladhar,

I know you're new here to AcuraZine, but you can post multiple pictures in a single post. I have merged all your pictures into your first thread.

Second, this is a public forum. Everyone is allowed to voice their opinion. You will learn that if you post something/pictures, not everyone will like your taste in modding. As long as things don't get personal (i.e.: name calling), everyone can voice their opinion-bad or good.

You should have known that the Type S badging on a generation of TL that was never had a Type S version was going to stir controversy. If you didn't realize that, you do now. Personally, I agree with everyone-the Type S badge does not belong on any TL except a true Type S car. In the 3G Community, owners that put Type S badges on their Base TL receive the same kind of feedback you have in this thread.

Third, Zaino products are very good. When I bought my Type S, my dealership recommended Zaino products. For your color TL, it's an excellent choice.

nice car but if I saw it in a lot, I'd do u the favor of removing the type-s badges ever so carefully/gently and stacking them up neatly for u beside ur car for u to dispose of lol. big no no my man, be proud of what u got and that goes for any generation TL. also it's an Acura not a Honda so get rid of the stickers too (too classy for that)

Definitely not a fan of the over-badging. Nevertheless, good luck with future mods!
