pete, the car looks great! Yes, the Basque Red Pearl does look very nice with the TL.
Oh, and your house looks great too! That stone turret (?) and the brick driveway look amazing! What a house!!!

I will be joining the 4G TL family myself in about 6 weeks when my PMM/Taupe SH-AWD Tech w/HPT model is delivered.
Enjoy.

Thanks! That looks like an awesome car! If my budget allowed, I would have liked to get the AWD version, too.....however, in my day-to-day commutes through the traffic-congested streets of Chicago, the AWD would've been a waste. (not to mention a toll on fuel economy).

I might have gone for the RL but it looks too much like my current 2G TL.
Can't wait to learn/use all the bells and whistles of the Tech package!

Congrats. It looks good. I like the wheels a lot. Are those the standard rims? I love my 05 and don't plan on trading it in for the next few years. I'll definitely give the 2010 a hard look, especially the MT SH-AWD.

What "huge" financial hit?....If I had gone for the Bimmer, that might be true. For less than $40K, there are very few vehicles out there like the TL that gives you so much performance, luxury, cool gadgets, reliability and fuel efficiency.

anytime you buy a brand new car you take a huge hit on the value. Drive it off the lot and you just lost a bunch of money, regardless of brand. That's all I'm saying. Being the first to buy a new model is fun too while everyone is looking at it and you're the center of attention but soon its the norm and you got stuck with the sticker price and no negotiating power it isn't worth it to me.

Congratulations! I saw it in the flesh and looks much better. Better stance, paint, fit and finish and overall more upscale. There was a 2008 TL-S parked nearby and it looked dated and plain!, crazy I know.
No need to be a jerk, let him enjoy his car. People are free to buy what they can afford.

I agree with you 100% but I don't think it was appropriate for you to say this. NO OFFENSE but you really make yourself sound like you are a little envious since you don't have an 09 and this person does...? I am not trying to start anything, I am just giving you MY opinion just like you gave him YOUR opinion

We all remember the days when we got our 2G/3G brand new TL ... sigh ... still waiting for Acura to right the ship down the road about fixing its front & back .... fingers crossed ....
Congrats to the OP about pulled the trigger on a 09 TL ...

I like how you erased the license plate, but you failed to notice that your Navigation screen displayed your exact location, your home may be?
Funny.
I love the car by the way.

Congrats on the new TL! I stopped into Lindsay Acura (Columbus) on Friday and I did think the design looked better in person. The interior is solid and the tech package model I test-drove was impressive. I'm waiting until the SH-AWD model is unveiled in November before I turn in my 3G lease.

Nice!
How's the steering wheel, it looks much thicker than the 3G wheel in the pix that I've seen. That's one thing that always disappointed me about the 3G (especially the Type S) the steering wheel should be much beefier in a sporty car!

It's much beefier in the 4G and is constructed with some sort of "gripping" composite. I really liked it in my test drive.

Yes, the 4G steering wheel is very nice. It's loaded with buttons....but it makes it possible so that you don't have to take your hands off the wheel. The voice command is the most sophisticated version I have ever seen...or heard (the extent of the vocabulary is incredible!). I heard the steering wheel in the SH-AWD version will be even thicker! (similar to the M3's)

Congrats, Pete. Good luck with the car. I'm waiting for the AWD before I test drive.
Two questions for you:
1. Do the song/track info from discs/XM/and now iPod show in the display like they did on the 3G?
2. Can you save music to the HDD from an MP3 disc? I'm a little disappointed about the lack of the 6 disc changer, although I haven't used regular CDs since I got my 07--just MP3 discs and DVD-A.
Thanks.

Hey Pete....very sharp car....congrats.
I was at the TL rollout at my local dealer. That's the exact same color of the one I test drove. My impressions, a very good redesign of a very good car.
I've had the same experience with the one (and only) Infiniti dealer in my area. No G for me.
To get anything remotely similar in a 3 Series, you're approaching $50K.
I won't be in the market for about 18 months, but when I am, the TL will be at the very top of my shopping list.
Enjoy!

I had a '04 TL a few years ago. The 4G NAV is not touchscreen but it's way more sophisticated than the previous model.......bigger screen, higher resolution, more POI, auto re-routing, traffic info. and re-routing, weather forecasts, Live Doppler Radar.......I don't think there is another NAV system in existence that is this advanced. Just the manual for the NAV system is hundreds of pages!
