Nothing really new here except lots of location video shot last July in my backyard!

Posting for posterity.

I am in love with 4G but don't have money to buy one.

Another mediocre review, he missed a lot of key selling points for my dollar. Thanks for being honest tmhs81 instead of bashing the car you can't have, yet! There are advantages to waiting on the new models as there are likely to be changes this coming year from Acura. I think the grills will be color matched on stock models, and hopefully they won't put any TL on 17's again! It's a shame to see.

I don't think the 17s fit the TL look very well at all but I think the 17s were a good move for Acura. Most of us using these types of forums are more into cars than probably the average mainstream TL buyer. Those 40+ buyers buy cars that are reliable, look good (subjective) and give a resonable return on investments - wash their cars three times per year. These folks want relaible above average transportation without spending a lot of money for upkeep. Tires are one of those upkeep items. The mainstream buyer just does not want to spend the high cost of 18", 19"+ tires. They expect to get 60-75k miles from the originals. The next time you are walking from the north forty (like I do) to the mall because you don't want your doors banged, take a look at the tires and wheels on the cars in this class. They are usually caked with front brake dust (especially Lexus), have scraped wheels and gouged tires from bouncing off of curbs at the drive up. These buyers usually don't put the same replacements back on. They buy the least expensive tires that will fit.

I hear ya PGSberg, but I feel your statement at top is contradictory meaning that you say the 17's don't look good, then you say it's a smart move for Acura? If they don't look good it's not a smart move as looks are everything! IMO, a smart move for Acura would be pleasing all it's consumers. I don't know one person in this forum that truly and honestly likes the stock 17's? It says Honda to me, I want Acura looking rims, I was extremely happy with my stock 3G rims as it fit the smaller car, these just might as well go my neighbors kids big wheel.

Whoa easy there, I'm 40+ and I've washed my car six times already and I've had it two months, but I know what your saying, try not to generalize like that, I've made that mistake before in this forum and got pounced, and probably will again for this comment.

Furthermore, I don't know what the break down of the forum is per member as far as enthusiast/expert, but I joined strictly to learn more about the car and share as the dealer just doesn't care to got the extra mile like Acurazine members do. Plus at times, you meet some really helpful and nice people, like yourself. Heck I contributed to helping write a manual on "how to make DVD-Audio discs" last year with Rimz! That was pretty cool!

The taller sidewall on the 17's provide a little more cushioning which contributes to a better ride. This and the tire cost may have been the driving factors why Acura chose to put 17's on the base model. That being said, I don't particularly like the 17's appearance, and I really wish they would have used the AWD's 18's as the stock wheel on the base. If not stock, they could have made them either part of the Tech package or as a stand-alone option like the 19's are on the AWD. I would have willingly paid a little more to get the 18's on the car. The extra money required at tire-replacement time would have been worth the appearance upgrade.

Now about the 19's...they look the best, but I don't envy you guys the tire bill when it comes time to replace your rubber!

Which is why I have my 19's in storage for the winter....I'm using my 18's as strictly for winter driving (I just recently put snow tires on them). The snow tires combined with the AWD turns my car into a "billy goat" in the snow.....great fun!
