you are right on the price comparison - absolutely makes more sense to just go the morimoto route.

thanks for chiming in, going to order these as a late XMAS gift to myself

Car is still alive, it went through the oil consumption test and got the pistons, rings, timing belt, spark plugs etc replaced for free. It took a long time to do the test but its running and driving really awesome. I still plan on more mods now that the oil burning issue is solved. I got the back windows retinted darker which I'm really liking. The fronts are still the middle darkness so I won't get pulled over. This upcoming Tuesday I'm getting the magnaflow 11225 mufflers put on. I'll try for a video of the sound once it's done. Hopefully I can find time to do more mods. Here's some pictures of it now!

I forget the percentage but it's the darkest one they offer, the same darkness as limos. I think it looks great with the darkness of the rest of the car. I also got those mufflers put on today. I haven't driven it much but so far I really really like it. It's definitely louder but not over the top, I would say the overall biggest change is the tone, it is much deeper and rumbly. Yet not too loud when coasting so it's not the type of exhaust that pisses of the neighbors. Still she sounds like a bad bitch haha I much recommend these mufflers. I'll try to post a sound clip soon.

Thanks man there's not much to update. It's been 2 years and it's spent most of that time in my driveway under a car cover. Sadly if my work ever made up their minds to let me perminantly work from home then I would be very tempted to sell. This is a big reason stopping me from modding it further.

Nice progress build thread. Did you clean your headlights with the DIY baking soda/toothpaste trick?

You only use your car for work commute?
I would find any excuse to drive...especially
a car I love. Especially on the roads you
probably have to carve up locally.

Thanks I used a 2 step meguires kit from Canadian Tire where you wet sand the headlights and then spray a new layer of clear coat to seal it. I got pretty good results with it and got pretty good at it after doing some friends and family cars with the same kit.

Mostly yes although I do try to drive it semi regularly for the purpose of enjoying it. But things have changed so much since starting this thread. I'm now married and bought a house that I am renovating so I could really use a more practical vehicle like a truck. My time and money are almost completely going elsewhere. It's easy to lose interest because of how unpractical this car is for my new lifestyle and my inability to afford multiple vehicles along with renovations.

my 20's are over and I feel like a very different person from when I started this thread for so many reasons. I am excited for the future and I'll just have to wait and see if this car will be staying with me.

2002 Yukon XL in decent shape as a daily beater and house repair home depot runner AND a car you enjoy driving is always the answer.

I'm in my 40's so you know you can trust me.
