HB29 Rims
DJTan, your rims are by far the best I have seen for the TL. I have a 2012 TL Tech. I have been going crazy trying to find the best rims. A rim that would make me 100% happy. This is the rim. Problem is, I am seeing they are very expensive. I am not sure though. Can you tell me what you paid for them? Anxiously awaiting your response. Also, did you add ground effects and lower your TL too? I can't really tell.

Hey thanks. I sent you a PM. A lot of people tell me that these rims really suit he car, so Im pretty happy with them.
I do have the OEM underspoiler kit for the car as well as tein SS coilovers which lower the car.

Thanks for the reply dj. Ok i tried to reply to your pm bit this bizarre site puts all these dumb restrictions on new accounts and i cant even reply. Anyway, yea those rims are awesome. Did you experiemce any tire-rubbing after putting 20s and lowering the car? Can you take some intetipr pics and show those mods too?

I did have some rubbing issues when i put the wheels on but, that is because i have a low offset with 20x9 in front and 20x10 in rear.
there are a few ways to avoid, first and easiest it to keep a conservative offset (+35-45) or you can have youre fenders rolled and shave down some of the tabs which is what I did.
what kind of pics do you want exactly? of the suspension?

Dj so i am a bit confused with what "offset" means. Can you explain that? Also i think my bolt pattern is 5X120mm, (2012 TL Tech). Is that right? Also what is the difference in 20x10to rim vs a 20x9 rim? What is the second number? I know the first is diameter. Thanks for your help.

I found some info for you on offsets, copied directly from site.
Offset
The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types (measured in millimeters).*
Zero Offset
The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
Positive
The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars.
Negative
The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset.
If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this won't work correctly. We have test fitted thousands of different vehicles for proper fitment. Our extensive database allows our sales staff to offer you the perfect fit for your vehicle.

2009-12 TLs all have a 5x120 bolt pattern. 20 represents the rim diameter and the 9 or 10 represents the rim width. I am running a staggered setup so i have wider wheels and tires in the rear. The Stock FWD wheels are 17x8.

Ok so this is my 5th post. I wont be able to post til full 15 days from signup date. Can you tell me what offset i will need on the HB29 with four 19" rim setup and with 20" rim setup after lowering the car with the same lowering kit you used? I think i want the 19's because i dont want my car too look too "thuggish" or "ghetto". Not that yours is like that but i just want to keep some sophiatication by not dominating the car with huge rims. I think 19" rims does that trick. Either way i would like to know what offsets i need for both rim sizes with that lowering kit that will avoid rubbing in wheel well. Hey dj shoot me an email at: guitar "at" twcny "dot" rr "dot" "com" and we can chat until i am able to start posting here again.

So since I had sent my bumper and grille for paint ( lots of rock chips) I decided to black out my headlights. I also added the TSX-R lenses from The retorfit source. I noticed that my headlights have A lot of oxidization. Does anyone else have this? I was able to get some of it off with the headlight repair kit but theres stil some left.

I havent tried rubbing compund yet and i dont have a buffer. Do you think ill be able to get similar results by hand? I also found a local service that comes out and fixes the headlights for about $60.

+1....make the investment in it. Once you start using it, you'll love it.
I found a Porter Cable on CraigsList. I bought it cheap-from a fireman! I didn't use it for a loooong time. But I tried it out on my daughters Jeep, and it worked fantastic!

Just wanted to say the wheels look great. Didn't even know bc racing made wheels until yesterday. A friend told me about them, went to their website and saw your car in the gallery. My boy FYAH TL told me you were on az. Had to check out your thread. I'm seriously considering the same wheels you have for my nsx. Just can't decide yet. They make some nice looking wheels.

So just a pic using the new panorama feature on IPhone5. The only thing new for is the blacked out headlights and I took my front lip off temporarily since I had my front end repainted.

i should also mention that this is one of those Chinese websites so the shipping time is like 3-4 weeks. they have a lot of other led stuff too so i would buy one big order and get free tracking.
Yea man it sucks!!!! My bumper has been hit with huge rocks, Crushed soda cans and branches. Not to mention I accidently had the garage door rub against the point of the bumper. I figured i might as well get 3 years of damage removed.

I honestly dont know my exact specs. when they aligned it I had them get as close to factory specs as possible and they were able to. Im not running any negative camber is thats what your asking.
I might try to find the printout i got at the time if you want me to.

Its not OEM fitment, thats for sure. I did test fit it on the car with out primer/paint. it seems to fit fine. I have a friend who has ings body kit on his lexus and it doesnt fit well. RJ is still good compared to some of the other brands Ive seen out there.
Yea. for me the front was the only good part. But Ive seen a few members with it installed and it looks great.

Do you mean a flop in sales or fitment or design? Because design-wise, it was basically designed on the forums with every bodies feedback during the initial and production processes. As far as sales, it has been average, but not a flop. And fitment is not bad at all, we've had our local shop and a few out ion the west coast do great jobs on installations without any unexpected issues.
