Blacked Out with IronMan/Angel Eye Idea ~ Thanks to Blackura!
So this past couple days, I've been trying to black out my head lights and add a little special lighting to it. You guys were there with I tried the Audi strips and honestly, I do like them but it was one or the other no matter how good someone can be. Two of them together was just to flashy. So I did some LED work and here's what I came up with!!
Oh and thanks to Blackura for helping me with the whole black out process =P Saved me a good amount of money and time to have it shipped in to JNC. Sorry for saving you earned money , but you get enough anyways lol.
Now for pictures! I'll work on getting better ones, but since it's night..and I already experience the wrath of taking pictures of LEDs at night..soo...(PS, I apologize for the image size)
Original Headlight
First attempt at opening definitely took me 2 hours and a rebake..damn variations in ovens
All I had were trash bags lol
Oh goodies...
Kept the amber but blacked out the reflector behind it. Decided I wanted to follow the law =P
Gooooooooooooooooooo TL!
Reason why it took me 6 days to do was because of the ideas for LED work I wanted to do...so I ended up with this (somehow, it became a angel eye/iron man hybrid). The shroud is kind of hard to work with...do I hear retrofit project coming up next? I think I do!

Good question. And no, not really unless you at a side view, which never happens I guess unless your at a red light. They're good DRL replacements actually. For night time, I'm still trying to come with an idea of what could work. Actually, I'm sure if I had layed those LEDs all the way around, it would be visible.

Hehe, I'm really glad I got some good praises! Well as promised, here are the pictures. I wish I had a better camera or know how to take pictures of LEDs...
PS. I need to do something about those yellow lights, I'm thinking a quad retrofit at some point in the future when I make mad dough haha.
When standing up front, you can see the LEDs, but I'm not sure how well when your driving and I'm behind you....yet lol.

I used Low-Gloss Dupli-Color Engine Enamel and it came out to be the perfect black to what I wanted. It was matte with a slight sheen to it if you get what I mean.

About 230 degrees at 20 minutes is what I had them in for. Blackura had them in for 210 degrees at 20 minutes. Depends on the oven. You know it's ready when the plastic cover is almost too hot to touch from my experience.

Wait what exactly are we doing, because I swear if soldering is involved...I want some sort of compensation for me burning myself...
This was from working on the LEDs. Since I was working with a soldering iron with a 2 ft cord, it fell of the desk...and knowing natural reactions I tried to catch it with my hand holding an LED.
Yea, it definitely landed smack dab on my hand. Pretty sure it was a 3rd degree burn too, I definitely had puss come out sometime in the next hour or so.

Iceman, congrats on doing your headlights. I spent a day altering mine as well. It's a long process, but definitely worth it!
