4G '09-'11 & '12 Combination Grille, Planning and Worklog

Well the grille is in it's second phase of testing as of now. I had a seam ghost up on me, so I grinded down the seam, but this time made the seam 1/2'' wide instead of 1/4''. This will allow the epoxy to flow in more and cover more surface area for a stronger bond. I also redid the complete back of the seam. I have it all epoxied back up. I used plastic filler this time instead of body filler. I am going to keep it out in the sun for a few days. See what happens. This is a important process and if I were to do this grille again, I would test it out in the sun as well. The reason why I put it in the sun, is because the sun allows the materials to expand. If not bonded well, they will expand too much and show.

^ I would really have to think about it, i dont want the stress of doing another and using my car to do it. But you have everything?
The grille is back on and in the second phase of testing, lets see what happens

I love what you have done to your grill. It's very creative and shows how the 4G TL grill should have come from the factory. What do you think of this guys modified 4G TL grill?

Hi! Nexson, Please to patent this before its too late, someone will take your hard work and put it into Mass production. It is a brilliant idea, very detail work, and it looks really really good, it has a stock look. Keep up the good work, because it will pay off.

It will be more noticable up close and on the backside of the grille where it meets the hood. It is now perfectly flat and even. I am excited.

bloody awesome bro....the most unique 4G on the forum
I hate the 4G TL....but you and RJ make the 4G look so sexy....I would only buy the 4G if it has the RJ lip kit or if you will be kind enough to make me a front bumper....

I apperciate the kind words! I think the TL has great potential, it just needed to be tweaked a little bit.
The grille is great. I will patent it, then maybe go from there. Now sure if it should be produced as the generation is already done.

Looks great and appears OEM. This is probably what the 09-12 design should have been in the first instance. Carries over the '12 refinement, without losing all of the 09-11's aggressive look. Nicely done.

i am sure they could of gotten away with just replacing the grille for the '12 (with something like mine) and would have saved alot of money, but then you would have everyone just buying 09-11 and replacing the grille.

it had been sitting in the attic ever since I did the front conversion. I realized I would never have the acura again and the fact that the TL generation was already aging made me realize that someone else would benefit from it. Oh and the four months, I worked on it on and off
