Looks like the only part that you'd need to have made would be this right here, true? As the middle piece can be bought from the dealer. Check the following link to get the ball rolling on prototyping etc.

Plus, let me know if you need CAD prototyping as I have a friend in Arizona that can help you with CAD replication of the actual grille.

The mesh grille also needs to be modified, there are certain parts on the back black mesh that interfee with the 2012 shield and need to be cut out. It is not a big deal to cut them out.
But as for the the big part of the grille, just ^that part needs to be made. Let me go ahead, finish this up, see how it actually looks on the car first =)

I know the feeling!! The same feeling I had everytime I visited the ron jon thread!
Prepartion is key here. The 1st coat of primer has been sanded down releaving a few small pits that will filled. Everything was blocked out straight once again and it is looking very good. I also filled a gap on the driver's side to fit up next to the headlight. I applied the second coat of primer. All that is left is final sanding, then sealer, then paint.

Hey Brian, I'm curious, with those fans exhausting the overspray in your garage like that are you finding remnants of paint elsewhere in the garage or outside from settling?
BTW, my wife is a teacher and she speaks with the same hand movements!
Cheers,
Jim

I'll answer myself since I'm thinking more clearly now. The filters in front of the fan should effectively catch the overspray. duh. I guess that's what I get for jumping on here before my morning coffee has kicked in!

Damn! I was intentionally avoiding this thread for past couple of days, hoping that when I visit it today, I would see the finished product. Instead, I see this video (which is great by the way). Haha come on Nexson. I can't take this anymore. Hahahaha

BTW, as for the hand gestures, I couldn't believe how much I use my hands haha.
It was back to work today, the kids arrive on the 15th.

Ok so I been crazy working all day. I got the 09 accord bumper all painted so the customer can pick it up tomorrow, so now I can focus on the grille. For whatever reason the top part of the grille got warped or something, it was all uneven. So I spent the past 3 hours heating it up and conforming it again (using two woods blocks on either side) to get it good enough for a light fill. Good news is that it is aligned nicely, bad news is that I need to sand back down for filler. I am hoping for it to be painted tomorrow, it is likely.

Big props for going out there and trying something new.

So the paint is still soft, still needs to be cut and rubbed and the car is filthy, but I couldn't resist!! Fresh paint against dirty paint haha.
I will get more official pictures by the weekend, these are just teasers.
