Thumbs up 2010 CBP SH-AWD Tech In Progress

She's a month old now. So far, I've replaced the grill and rear trim with the "Midnight" Chrome grill. NO clue where they get the midnight from. It's definitely chrome. I replaced the fogs with HIDs and got 32% tint all around and that's about it for now. I will be picking up my rims this weekend so I hope to have them on sometime next week. Will probably get the skirt package in the near future. Just need to get a good price.

Wow - Beautiful shots of a beautiful clean car - nicely done - shows off the chrome grill pretty good. Makes me want to get it too now - will probably need your help to install it

32% looks good - not too dark and looks legal

Yeah - let's hope that we get an answer on the skirt package tomorrow - not holding my breath though.

Very nice!! I've been waiting to see what the 'midnight chrome' looked like on the CBP and I'm impressed. Nice pics showing off the car, and it's looking real clean.

I might have to think again about getting this grill for mine. Thanks for sharing the pics.

/\ What he said. Definitely need to consider this for my CBP. Plus, I assume it eliminates the problem of the streaks/water marks on the satin finish portion of the standard grill.

Thanks, the 32% to me is perfect. I think you should go for that too.

The water marks and streaks are still there but I guess it's much easier to clean than the satin part. I also zaino'd the chrome grill to make it easier to clean up.

That's what I was hoping for as well. I've seemingly got a alot of spots/stains on the satin finish portion of the front grill and rear trim piece as well. Haven't found anything that cleans it off very well. I think some of it might be from the mag chloride they use to treat the roads here in the winter instead of salt.

I keep coming back to look at these pics of the new grill, as it really makes the car look good!

I've got 32% tint on mine as well and think it's the right balance between looking good and staying legal too.

I personally think the chrome grill and trim matches the car better since everything else is chrome. It does have a darkish finish to it and it's not as bright as normal chrome. It should look good on your Grigio.

Keep coming back to check out the tint and the black chrome. Until you told me about the 32%, I didn't realize that they had it. I think I'll do the same - should look good on PM

Yup, I think the 32% is perfect. I'm very happy with it and they do a great job with the install.

Very nice looking car!!!! What do you think of the midnight chrome grille and rear trim piece. I want to order one for my CBP, but it would be nice to see and feel them first, or to see them in real life. Are they quality parts. Are they what you expected when you ordered them? Do they make a big enough difference that when you stand there and look at them, you say to yourself..."Damn! that looks so much better, I'm so glad I spent $350.00?

I forgot to ask, what are the "diamond" shaped projections below the headlights. I've never noticed them before.

Yeah, they're good quality. It's direct replacement of the front grill and rear trim. It's quite a big piece. The chrome is just what you would expect. It's like the other chrome trims around the car so this definitely completes the look of the car. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

What doesn't make sense is that the sport grill for my 2008 Impreza costs more than the TL's. And it's a much smaller grill.

Nice ride OP, welcome aboard!

If you guys are serious about the midnight chrome, there's a dealer near me that sells the set on Ebay for $275.

Nice ride Gunner. Really liking the tints. Were the tints done at the dealer?

No, it was done at a shop. However, this shop does tints for dealers too. When I was there they had 2 cars from dealers they were tinting.

Just drove to Buffalo to pick these up today. Hopefully I can find a way to get them on sometime this week.

I'm very pleased with how the rims look. The MRR GT-1s are the only ones I saw with decent lip at 20x8.5". Can't wait to have them mounted on the car.

Oh Man, those look great. I was torn between the satin black and liquid graphite legend type II's, but this picture has me wishing I did the black. The lip gives great contrast.

Since I saw the ride in person, I have to admit that all the updates you are making are working out well. The car is CLEAN

The pictures you took of the chrome are nice - trying to show the reflection - but as nice as they are, these pictures still DO NOT do the chrome grill justice. You got to see them in person. Maybe a video could work

Whether parked or rolling, the chrome grill and trim are 100+% better than the satin one. The reflection is what makes it work. You cannot get a grasp of where the grill begins and where it ends. I can finally now understand what all those who have the chrome grill were talking about. I see this as small $ for big improvement ( at least for me as I'm trying to maintain the OEM look as much as possible ). Putting in my order as soon as Tim gets the GB going

Never been a lip on rims guy, but the ones you got on for this car are nice. 20" on stock suspension definitely works for someone like me who is not "yet" looking at dropping the car. The offset is perfect and still within the wheel well. Looking forward to what you can do with the pix to showcase them.

Now let's get those underbody spoilers on.

Cheers
d.

The weather has been unpredictable so I'm not sure if it's going to rain or not. I decided to take pictures anyways before washing the car.

This pic has me thinking about the H&Rs.

Gunner X, I was doing a search on the body colors of the TL, and then I saw your Midnight Chrome grille - it's gorgeous! It looks 100000000X better than the original!!! This should have been the STANDARD grille for the TL, period!!!

P.S. your CBP TL SH-AWD is STUNNING with all the mods that you have done!
