your not gonna get that hp.. its only a noise maker..

you will get more gains with just a test pipe than a takeda sri..

I have the SRI. Yes, it should fit.

It's just a noisemaker, and an expensive one at that. Spend that money on a J pipe or a test pipe.

Agree with everything said here - Get yourself a test pipe to replace your cat and you'll notice more than the SRI. Get a j-pipe and you'll notice even more.

was wondering what is the point of just getting a j pipe without the complete exhaust?

Reason i ask is because the the j pipe is wider in diameter than the rest of the stock exhaust. So wouldn't it defeat the purpose to have a larger pipe connected to a smaller one.

The heads feed directly into catalytic converters, and the J pipe links these with the exhaust. The J pipe has been found to be a bottleneck, and even without changing anything else, will show you some more giddy'up.

I'm conflicted about even changing the stock exhaust. It's the nicest performance exhaust setup I've ever seen on a honda from the factory. It is a bit lacking on the bends where they meet the collector. Most likely, I'm just going to get a muffler shop to cut the stock mufflers, drop in the appropriate magnaflows, and re-use the stock tips. Sleeper look - good sound, and should open up a few horsepower. Looking at how good the stock exhaust is - I can't justify $1000 solutions to replace it.

Sounds like we have a similar plan with regards to the muffler/stock tips but i don't have it on the hot list atm.

Just out of curiosity, anyone has ever cut open the muffler before? What's inside the muffler?
My buddy with a m3, there is a oem muffler mod where the muffler is cut open and the the pipes inside are replaced with straight pipes.
Just wondering if this mod can also be done to our TL mufflers.

You should be able to do the J pipe (not the longtube) without any smog repurcussions - it just flows better, no emissions delete.

RV6 also makes HFPC (high flow pre cat) that SHOULD also allow you better performance without screwing up smog testing.

HeartTLs has the HFPCs and could give feedback.

Definately does increase mid/high end, car currently my car climbs to the limiter effortlessly. Before the exhaust mods it struggled to get to speed past 80-90. EAZY also just installed hfpc on his fwd TL.
