You've gone beyond the point where a simple apology and "I was wrong" would do, I suggest quietly making an exit.

But Vivmike has been banned from Acurazine for so many times that Vivmike no longer returns.

Until now, a newbie decides to take up Vivmike's exact role in this forum.

Yes, "back in the day" we made HP, we didn't get on the Internet and buy a SRI we drilled holes and added bigger air filters than stock and so on.

As far as the mod being "ghetto" I think it is a nice clean mod, took your time, made it look nice. Plus it didn't cost you anything more than time. I have taken a drill and just bored holes until there were more holes than plastic before.

I think I may have a run at pulling the airbox and breaking out the drill and Dremmel an having a go at it. Another thing is when it's traded in, no one notices as it's under the filter.

That just reduced the performance of your car. Honda engineer's have done an awesome job extracting every ounce of performance from the intake system.

Aside from that please stop claiming heat soak is a non issue. Run a diagnostic on your car and check the intake temps while driving it using any smart phone app and you'll see the intake temps are going to be at least 50 degrees over ambient temp thanks to the mod you made.

Same goes for ram air intakes. Heat soak absolutely kills engine performance and unless you're living in the arctic circle you will notice it at some point in time.

Even my six year old son knows that air goes from bottom to top and that it needs a filter. He's helped me change one before. You're an idiot.

I do challange you to watch the MightyCarMod guys youtube videos. I have specifically watched them talk about CAI and they stated even a CAI will do nothing to increase horsepower as the ambient temp is greatly cooled once moving. They even hooked a fan up directly to the intake ducting verse running an SRI and found little to no difference once the car was moving.
Idle, different story, initial pull, different story, moving with WOT, same shit.

I have no tested this in any way myself. Im just speaking about what those guys did on their youtube channel. They have a couple episodes based on intake performance.
