I'm late but, I do live in MA and have a 2012 TL. Only issue is I don't have a 6MT or know where the shop is located. Would love to help contribute in getting some engine mods going for our cars tho. LMK if I can help in any way.

I am aware it's in Rehoboth as stated above. But there is no direct address. Also tried calling the shop, no answer. Looks like we might be out of luck guys :-/

Oh, my bad. But yeah, they don't respond to e-mails anymore for whatever reason so I guess they're no longer an option.

Actually, I just heard back from them! They said they would need the car for 2 weeks for fabrication and testing.

Question for you guys. Now that we have ktuner available for tune. I can ask a shop to make the custom adapter to connect the turbo on my car and start buying all the kit to make the car turbo and just bring it to a shop that specializes with turbo so they can tune it correctly no?

What do you mean by a custom adapter to connect the turbo? Are you talking about Ktuner?

but yes, the situation is two fold:

1. You need to have the turbo, intercooler, waste gate, BOV, and all necessary piping installed on the car. As far as I know, there are no kits for the 4G, so everything would have to be made one off. The beauty of this is the possibilities are endless in terms of piping and placement of everything. The downside is cost. However, it’s been done countless times on countless platforms and the 4G is no different. It can easily be done, but it likely will cost a few dollars more, especially if you’re not trying to make a crazy setup. A straight forward turbo setup will net you good power and likely won’t need much for supporting mods besides a full exhaust. You really don’t want to be building your transmission, etc. It’s not cheap.

2. The ECU needs to know there’s a turbo attached to the engine. This is where Ktuner comes into play. If Ktuner is available for the 4G, I don’t believe you need to buy anything additional (though a quick email to them should confirm that).

That being said, once everything is installed, you can either tow the car to the shop, or have some sort of baseline tune put on it just so you can drive to the shop. Don’t be driving the car hard. The tune is likely far from ideal and you don’t want to mess anything up.

Once the shop has the car, they’ll throw it on a dyno and start tuning away. The other option, if the baseline tune is safe enough, is to do data logging and then have a tuner go over it with a fine tooth comb and perfect it. Either way will work. Personally, I’m more of a fan of just towing the car to a shop and elt them do their magic, but again, you have options.

thanks for your reply!!!

When i said adapter its because on other car the turbo is mounted with the headers but us its a pcd and jpipe right?

And if we look into pricing its seems not more expensive than the s/c kit thats out now no ?

i setup to run like 8 psi safe to start will be perfect. I started to look at some turbo kit diy from a good compagny. Why not buy this that goes for arround 1000 us or find a used kit on internet bring that to a shop for a custom install and after that the tuning. Maybe im
missing
something but i dont see why it will be to expensive to it?

Anyone can piecemeal a system together but to make it all work correctly will involve time and custom fabrication. That is not a cheap process and is something best left to someone with the necessary experience or your engine might just .

I know I'll probably never be able to justify spending ~5-7k on this but damn if I'm not excited regardless!!

wow i am so glad to see this thread didn't die out. I am in the same boat, if the auto transmission can hold up the the additional power output I would definitely be into doing this. A v6 tsx guy on this forum did a turbo setup and it held up so far i believe. Obviously FWD will suffer with traction issues but if that 5speed auto can hold up so far i am hoping the 6AT can do the same. Not to mention the TL has a stock transmission cooler.

Someone will have the be the first to try this on an auto but it can pave the way for other people on here.

I've been backlogged on Accord kits for the past few months. I still plan to work on a TL kit, I just need to find the time. Thanks for the continued interest.

Damn, I’m only about 30 minutes away and have a 6MT, but don’t have the funds for this, otherwise I would offer to bring my car in as a tester

Hey all, I've just been trying to figure what route I want to go with my 14 a spec ah-awd. I talked to a buddy of mine who does alot of my turbo work. He's down to make one for me, still checking prices etc... But when searching., this post came up, is there any news about this happening? Or should I proceed and see if he's still interested in making one ?
