RV6 True Duel Exhaust

Hey Azine!

I reached out to Richie to find out if he would be interested in doing a RV6 true duel exhaust system. He said it would be costly but possible. Cost would be between 1500-1800ish maybe lower or higher who knows. I am getting a poll of interest not necessary a commitment. Forget the presidential election vote on this

I don't think you're going to find much interest in this. A true dual exhaust system will have very little benefit on the TL, it's a known fact that very little hp/tq is available to be gained from a cat-back exhaust on this platform.

That maybe so Wreak unless you get a K tune, but people still buy exhaust from ATLP, EXR8 or Endless... Either way I figured I would try to help the community

Where is this fact you are talking about? Data sheets? I can tell you based on my personal experience, there are gains with a full exhaust and I can prove it too.

Feel free to prove it.

I didn't say there aren't gains, they just aren't worth it when you consider dollar per HP. Finding a way to make the exhaust even more expensive will likely provide you with an even higher cost per HP than the current systems in existence offer.

Most of the power with exhaust mods are achieved not from the cat-back exhaust but by replacing or deleting the pre-cats and j-pipe...you can look all over this forum, this isn't new information, it's been proven time and time again, which is why you're not going to find anyone interested in doing this that has actually done their homework.

I will post up my dyno sheet once I censor my info. I made more top end HP than what most posted in the k tuner thread. Stock cats, rv6 jpipe and xlr8 catback.

Okay, but we're talking just cat-back exhaust here. Posting a dyno graph with a cat-back and an RV6 J-pipe isn't really proving anything... If you made 20hp how can you prove you didn't gain 5hp from the cat-back and 15hp from the J-pipe?

I did say full exhaust. The jpipe itself will not get the gains I was able to get with a tune. Maybe, but highly doubt it based on was posted in the past. My point is, with a proper tune you can get the most out of a catback system. Even with no exhaust mods, you will get some gains.

I don't doubt you *might* get some gains, but it will hardly be worth the extra cash you're forking out. Like I said, people are mostly wasting their time with the cat-back exhaust, its primarily for sound and looks with a little bump in power. The HP/TQ gains are in the j-pipe and pre-cats which aren't even part of what the OP is referencing.

I personally love having exhaust and Jpipe for the sound, looks and the bump in horsepower. However, adding another option will be tough in the current market unless it's sold at a competitive price.

Understood carbon. This was just a feeler to see what Azine community thought about it. I really admire Richie's workmanship. You can see the quality he has in his welds. It always good to have options. You can get a full quad exhaust from OBX for like 400$.

Yeah it is good to have options. No Bueno on obx though. Not quality work. I'll stick with my ATLP.

I think the better question is what are the gains of the RV6 Dual Exhaust, over, say, the ALTP/XLR8/Regular RV6 exhaust?

If you're paying $600 more for a 2hp gain, then I would say it's not worth it. You'd also be adding even more weight to the car.

I love Richie's products and commitment to our platform and because of that I'm not going to blow smoke up his ass. Don't make it unless you get money up front Rich.

On the 3G I believe the cost is 1800? People already find ATLP expensive and this would be significantly more. As to whether there are gains to be made, maybe, but as other members have posted to what end and at what cost (money/weight)?

BTW Taco, I fucking love your avatar, so much so that I even want to borrow it.

Obviously Richie is not dumb and is not going to research and design a catback for 4 ppl. Currently ATLP is 1600, which falls right in the range of the estimate of 1400 to 1800. As the rule goes you gain about 1hp per 100$. Who knows though with HFPC, JPIPE and exhaust with Ktune being able to change fuel air ratios what gains could be had. 3G had great gains in Jpipe. I have yet to see that on the 4G platform. Still it would sound awesome.

I've been in the talks with a local exhaust shop about a true dual for my FWD Tech and the cost is noooooo where near the price you said. Should have it done in about a month or so and could relay if there's any real difference to you guys.

dunno why you guys are even consider making the 4g faster.. hp per price is not even worth it.. even with all available performance parts put on it.. if said one wanted a high hp luxury car go get a true sports car.. not a boat like the 4g.

I agree. The 4G TL is not the right vehicle to set lofty HP goals with.

J-pipe, PCD, Exhaust, and maybe CT-E Icebox + Ktuner is about as good as it's going to get.

And really, while there are gains with the Ktuner, I don't know if it's worth the money. PCD + J-Pipe are best bang for the buck.
