Please forgive some noob questions
I live about an hour from RV6 and am very tempted to get these mods
I have a '12 SH-AWD auto - does the tuning change driving while in D only or S as well? Does/Can Ktuner stop the automatic shifting from 1st to 2nd in S mode using paddles? Any info on MPG after a tune?
From what I'm reading it sounds like the tune really smooths the car out, and I'd be very interested in obtaining that - not sure I want to mess with the exhaust too much, i like the stock sounds it makes

The tune is the same for AT and MT. What we were looking for was numbers for the MT, which could really be had at any dyno location and save you a lot of travel time. Rich's dyno is also down at the moment due to a wiring issue.

WOT will use less fuel than the factory tune. Cruising mileage will not change. AT functionality is unchanged at this time.

Is this something that will be addressed in time ?
The 12 and up guys would probably like to see the auto shift from 1st to 2nd eliminated and I (2010) and probably others would like it if the the shift change would occur at a higher rpm, this car hates being in top gear so early.

There's some things that they've done which lead me to believe the transmissions are weak. I may make it an option you can alter yourself, but I am not going to include that in a reflash and take on the liability.

Also,
The base tune now included for RV6 products (HFPC-J Pipe), is that part of the K tuner software regardless of which dealer it is purchased from?

I could be wrong about the reasons behind what they did, and let's hope so.
Basemaps are built into the software.

Ideally, I would like the car to hold fourth gear longer in Auto mode, mind you it's not really a big issue for me because I drive mostly in Manual mode and the one good thing with the five speed is that you can hold the gears to redline.

i'm looking to get the jpipe + hfpc + ktune combo for my 2012 sh-awd 6mt, no major engine mod other than atlp exhaust.
would love to put her on a dyno and get some before/after numbers, and tuning done if required. unfortunately i'm not aware of any AWD dyno facility in my area but if anyone knows please let me know.

I do know that you can paddle shift a 2012 back into first if you've got enough throttle input so they are willing to let you shock load the transmission with the highest multiplied torque. Can you see the details of that particular shift from looking at the ECU programming?

Best case is that Acura shoves you out of first because they don't want it to be a hoon machine in parking lots.

I'm pretty sure the transmission logic was different on the '14 I drove, but try flooring it and then clicking the paddle. That works on my '12 as long as you're going slow enough to hit a reasonable rpm in first.

The RV6 j-pipe is hands down the best bang for your buck power mod for the TL. Couldn't be happier!

The J-pipe does not. The precat deletes can trigger a CEL, but most have had pretty good luck avoiding the CEL with the built in defoulers which attempt to trick the O2 sensors.
I've personally favored the HFPC's, both with my 3G and my 4G. They give nearly the same gains as the pre-cat deletes but don't trigger a CEL and reduce your emissions considerably. I live in Utah where we have nasty smog inversions in the winter. I'd prefer to be less of the problem with emissions. Call me a hippie......
