RDX 3.5 V6 (J35) - Ktuner or HFPC?

Hello,

I'm owner of RDX 3.5 2013 and I decided to start modding it a little bit ( mainly because this model is sharing the same base engine as the Accord V6/ TL ).

2013 Acura RDX 3.5L V6 AWD AT 6
Engine: J35 ( same as Accord V6 2008-2012, Acura TL 3.5 09-14 )

Performance mods:
  • K&N typhoon SRI ( 3.5" ) + air filter heat shield
  • ZDX (3.7L) Intake Manifold
  • ZDX (3.7L) Throttle Body
  • MDX spacer ( Intake manifold spacer )
  • P2R "thermal" intake manifold gasket
  • Custom JPipe ( 3rd cat deleted )
Future mods:
  • KTuner or HFPCs?
  • Replace my 3.5" SRI for a 4" CAI. Worth it?
  • Stock size light crank pulley?

I'm thinking that I might gain more going with a custom tune vs HFPCs. I read somewhere that a tune is really needed to obtain the full potential of J37 IM/TB upgrade.

What do you think?

Thanks !

KTuner hasn't released RDX support yet, it's not listed on the applications page.

I have a 2016 advance RDX and those are decent performance upgrades. Didn't even think about any of those.

This is the 4G TL section though and not the 2nd gen RDX section. Don't think there is any hfpc available for the 2nd gen RDX. I wanna see what your Jpipe looks like.

I've been told that an approved KTuner dealer could actually do something for my RDX.

There already support for the Honda Fit, Element and Ridgeline before the RDX V6...I will probably go ahead with HFPCs as my final mod.

Thx!

I make KTuner, so I speak the truth. A dealer maybe be able to get you into testing with my approval. Nobody has asked so far.

I've contacted RD Turbo. In this case I believe he will contact you directly for full approval as you are the creator.

I will go with HFPC for now and simply wait for future support.

Thanks!

Excellent. Tell him to get me your part number, or you can, and email it in!
