Mods from A to Z!!!

As far as mods go, what set should get done first???
2010 TL FWD
intake+jpipe+catback or wheels+tires+coilovers???
Also, why is it damn near impossible to find a front strut tower bar for this gen???
all advice will be appreciated.
endless for exhaust & jpipe weapon r or takeda for intake
yellowspeed, Ksport or Tein coilovers. Would consider BC, but might not be necessary since I’ll barely see a track.
is the pedal commander equivalent to getting a ktuner???
im new at this and I highly respect experience!!!
this forum is lit!!!

Depends on what you want to accomplish. I went with wheels, coil overs and oem body kit first.

For my second round I did endless catback, xlr8 jpipe and intake.

pcd and ktuner will be the last two things I do.

I’m more in favor of show before go. The performance mods has made the car a little more fun to drive

If you are looking for significant gains then you won't find it for the TL unless you go with the Rotrex Supercharger Kit.

Stock Intake is the best Intake for the car, J Pipe with Third Cat Delete , PCD and KTuner will net you some improvements and improved acceleration

The effects of Pedal Commander / Sprint Booster is similar to DBW Tuning that can be done through KTuner so just go with the K Tuner for the wide range of Options it offers.

Tein Coilovers seem to be the preferred choice.

A set of Lightweight Rims and Tire Combo is a great addition.

WRONG

The oem intake is a cold air intake; the AEM intake is bringing in hotter air... hot air = power loss and this has been dyno proven

Yes, I said.

Believe what you will but for overall performance nothing beats the no cost Stock Intake.
This is from someone who tried Three different Intakes along with Data Logging and currently run the CT Engineering IceBox which is the only true CAI apart from the Stock Intake.

Even the IceBox had issues during Tuning due to the differences in the Housing, true benefits were seen after Tuning.

As for the PCD’s , well it offers marginal gains over the HFPC. They are also cheaper, produces a sound that some don’t like , smell of raw gas and will fail an emission inspection if your a State has one. This Mod is up to the individual to decide if the marginal and unfelt increase is worth it on a 4000 lb Car.
If you plan to go Forced Induction then the PCD is better.

We're partial to the XLR8 Jpipes too and thanks for your support!

Jpipes are a great place to start for these cars and will offer you some noticeable gains without any other mods. The factory Jpipe on these cars are restrictive - the collectors merge together at what is almost a right angle, and the exhaust gasses get run through a third (unmonitored) catalytic converter. By opening up the pipes, merging them together nicely, and removing the cat we were able to get the cars to breathe easier, and put down some more power!

Feel free to send me a PM for the best pricing possible!

I'd definitely agree with using TEIN coilovers. My preference would be to do Wheels, tire, and coilovers first. That's just because it's something everyone will be able to see once you get it done! Happy modding!

Look for a stock strut tower bar, my 2012 came stock with one. Xlr8 v2 j-pipe with third cat delete was my first mod along with their exotic sounding quad exhaust with resonator. I also have the rv6 pre cat deletes and the sound is insane no rasp at all. Sounds super throaty like an beefed up sti no joke. Ktuner end user is a must. The car has already enough power and torque in it to feel and be fun to drive but nothing is more awesome than driving and hearing that sweet v6 rumble. If you back road alot I suggest suspension and wheels should be first with 19x9 wheels as minimum. As far as intake tube and filter situation goes the sri will heat soad your car on a hot day you do feel it. I swapped stock and takeda sri over and over and stayed with the sri. I do have the throttlebody coolant lines in a loop and the egr completely deleted now along with header wrapped pcd so it's not as hot in the bay as it was, as well my intake air temp is now lower. Removed top plastics and the hood garbage so there is more room for the hot air to exit.

For a huge heads up intakes if added need added last. These new cars are not dumb so making more air in they will correct the afr to their limits. These are not 90's Hondas where they would run lean and gain hp. Adding an intake of any kind is not gaining you anything until you get the tune and have exhaust mods for better flow. As stated in a previous post the loss of power and bogging down scenario the car can't inhale more than it can exhale.
