msubee and Pseudo
I have an fwd 09 tl. How loud are the magnaflow mufflers? I dont want something too loud that the police stop me. Would it be possible for you to post drive by videos? Would the 11225 fit my tl or which ones would I need?
Thanks for all your help.

Gotta admit for the price, especially when compared to some of the complete systems you can order, this is a SUPER option!

Would this same muffler fit on my 2012 awd tl as well? If not, what fits on my tl-shawd that is not pricey like Cometech Axle Back Exhaust. Thanks

So since there is no answer, I just ordered same Magnaflow Muffler since it supposed to be universal. I can't wait to put them on my car.

Probably it will fit the AWD version of the TL, because Pseudo's car is AWD and it fit perfectly for him. However, for the FWD TL, this muffler will not fit perfectly, unless there are certain modifications to the stock exhaust piping.

Thanks

This is actually my first post, and oddly enough its about my first mod to my 09 AWD TL.

Lots of great information here. Just did the magnaflows on my TL and I love them. Loud when you want, leaning towards subtle when you don't.

I'll try and get a full throttle drive by video up here in the next couple days

Clips sound good but can either of you (Pseudo or Sojue) get a drive by video? In cabin was good but the in-park rev'ing videos don't really mean much. Thanks.

Also did they they tell you that you should also take off the resonator, I think it might be to much if I do. Any opinion on that?

They didn't tell me anything. They just swapped out the stock muffler.

I bought the mufflers online from Amazon. I was in West Covina area and yelped a good muffler shop and found one with some good reviews. It's called Mufflerville.

I think it's owned by an old man who was there and installed on my car. He charged me $30 for each which is very reasonable price.

Thanks,

Leave the resonators alone; the mufflers unlock the power and a tastefully sporty sound without being overbearing.

I'm looking to get these put on my car, but I noticed there is a Borla option too. Are there any pros and cons vs. Borla and Magnaflow?

I'm sure there are lots of muffler options for the car. Lookup the dimensions on the 11225 - it's something like 20x9 with single centered 2.25 in and out.

I don't know that I've seen anyone on here has done Borla.

Ok thanks. Was just curious. I had Magnaflow on my truck so i may just go with what you have. Borla is a bit more expensive too.

does anybody have some pictures of the removed/replaced factory muffler section? I am considering to do this mod but would like to show more detail to my muffler shop so they can have a better idea on how much they should charge me. Thank you all.

btw, I found this on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Magnaflow-112...ht_2207wt_1071

the price is pretty good, is it the same one we are discussing here?

hummm....if it requires cut & weld, I am not sure if that's what I want as I always return a car to its stock form when trade or sell. Nowadays, dealers wants everything stock so they get to CPO the car for better resale purpose.

Thanks for the tip.

Any muffler changes on the 4G TL are cut and weld. In similar fashion You can cut and weld the stock mufflers right back in.

Your exhaust alternative would be one of the $1000+ catbacks if you just want to remove that massive exhaust system and find somewhere to store it.

I'd be skeptical of a muffler shop that didn't look at that and the magnaflows and already know what to do.

I'm probably going to do this pretty soon... when I do I will post some pics. You will need a welder, but don't worry if you are not good at welding, as no one will see the welds.

You would need to cut some pipe to leave on the mufflers anyway if you ever wanted to put them back on.

I think mine might have an inch of pipe each on them. It's a good, very stock in appearance fitment IMO.

I'm getting this done tomorrow. Same mufflers but I am switching the stock resonators with regular pipes. I will post pics and a video when its done. Not sure if I will use the stock tips or get some different ones put on. We will see

msubee - i have a FWD TL too and i am going to install the Magnaflows. How does yours sound compared to the stock muffler?

Can anyone get a video of a drive by with these installed? The in-park revving doesn't give a true indication of how they sound installed.

Thanks.
