I beg to differ, I own both a snap on 1/2" lithium ion which won't perform anywhere close to my 1/2" air impact, both racking in over $500 a piece. Simply the hammer in the electric doesn't have as much force behind it as the air. REAL air tools will always dominate over electric.

If you've got a 100 gallon air compressor, and a plumbed for air garage, and a $450 air impact, sure, the extra 150 ft/lbs of torque might come in handy working on diesel big rigs.

For about $1000 less, you can buy a nice craftsman, or splurge on a hitachi or dewalt electric (not cordless) impact, and get 450-500 ft/lbs of force and none of the air tool headaches.

I have a 25 gallon C/H compressor and a 1/2 C/H impact (not their Walmart BS). It hadn't been used once since I bought the electric. For the home mechanic, I've not found a better all around power tool.

Hmmm...but the electric is bulkier, IIRC?!? No?
Anyway, hopefully my impact will get the job done.

I can't speak for the corded electrics, but as soon as I find a nice house with a garage I think I'll stick with air, just makes sense since all my tool are air powered already, but if u say a corded impact electric is strong I'll take your word, only cause I know ur not a bullsh*ter lol.

Bulkier no doubt - but plenty strong. I've never encountered anything it can't turn, and I don't have to wait on air-pressure from a tiny compressor.

Yeah hopefully with a 50-60 gallon tank I won't have to wait long, the corded might even saw money on the electricity bill.

I don't feel like I ever have to wait on my compressor for power. Have you been able to take off a crank pulley with the electric one?!? I've been reading that an impact won't work.

My 1/2" snap on will take smaller crank pulley bolts off, older accords and almost any civic, but the newer j's and k24's I need my 3/4"

Fk...I only have a 1/2...not 3/4. It seems like such a simple mod...but I guess the torquiness of it makes it super difficult to get.

A local shop shouldn't charge you more than 1 hour labor, $50-$100

I sure will...still looking to find a good deal on one, I'm not jumping till I find one. I'm willing to go unorthodox or ralco.

Resurrecting a 5 year old thread. Does anyone have experience and feedback with a lightweight pulley? I had one on my 3rd gen and liked it, but according to this thread, the 4th gen stock pulley is lighter which would reduce the improvement a lightweight pulley.

Any comments from anyone that's used this would be appreciated

Correct one as far as size (not undersize) or correct in terms of sticking with stock?

The lightweight pulley is far lighter despite the 4G having a revised lighter OEM version than the 3G. Car rev's much quicker with lightweight pulley. As for gains (provable/dyno) refer to accord side and you'll get a small increase in power throughout the band.

I would not invest... I would get a lighter flywheel before that

Well, the cost associated with that is a bit more than I want to invest. How much would a lightweight flywheel and install cost? Is there any issue with the 6AT with the interface between a lightweight flywheel and TQ?

Can't speak on that... but IMO ain't worth the $$$ for the lightweight pulley. Some love it some had issues with it.. so it's a risk you will have to take.

I had it on my 3G and never had a problem. However, I can't say I noticed a huge difference either. I'd do it without hesitation if it were less expensive. $200 for a pulley is a bit more than I'd like to spend right now.
