Using 2 smartphones 1 for phone calls and the other for music

I searched the forums, couldn't find this topic.

I have a 2014 TL SH-AWD.

I have iPhone 5 for as a work phone and a HTC One M8 as a Personal phone. Both the phones are paired.

My ideal scenario is use the iPhone for phone calls using bluetooth and use my HTC for music streaming via bluetooth.

Sometimes automatically I see my both phones are paired iphone for phone usage and HTC for music usage.

I'm not able to replicate this at will.

What is the sequence I should follow so that I do not have 2 switch between connecting one of them at a time?

Thanks,

My suggestion would be to ditch the smart phone for music and instead upload all your music to a USB drive and plug that into the USB port.

You will get better quality sound from the USB and wont have to deal with bluetooth for that second phone.

As for your specific answer though I could not say.

But my music is streamed from streaming apps from my HTC, it's not stored on my HTC.

on your phones under bluetooth options, click on the option for the car and on the iphone only enable contacts and phone, on the android enable only audio streaming (uncheck phone/contacts) and you should be good to go!

This setup works for me. Pair both devices. Than have to go into your Bluetooth setting on each device and select on/off for media audio or phone audio.
