Tablet Mount similar to SHIELD TL
UPDATE: For some reason my thread got posted in the photo gallery thread. If a moderator could move it to the appropriate thread, that would be great. Sorry about the mistake!
Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how Acura was able to mount an iPad to their "SHIELD TL" that was being demoed at an auto show. I saw a video of it on YouTube recently, and I liked where it was placed in the car. Here is a screenshot from the video:
I have a 2012 TL Base and a BlackBerry PlayBook. I haven't had a need for GPS yet, but I feel it would be nice to have it mounted there if I ever did.
Is the solution Acura used similar to what pro-clip offers (click on image for their product page)? Although...Pro-Clip's seems more complicated and, um, bulky:
Thanks for your assistance!

With a screen that large, I think it would be a huge distraction.

Dag, I was hoping it wouldn't be. I guess I should at least go with the Pro-Clip solution, but their prices seem kinda high. As always, thanks for the quick reply
My BlackBerry PlayBook isn't as large as an iPad, so it wouldn't be too bad (I think). The only reason I really want it in there was for the GPS.

^^This i-pad placement would interfere with the passenger side air bag deployment. That tiny tablet could become a guillotine in an accident.

Brr...that's a scary idea. I rarely have passengers, but I guess I'll back away from this idea. I just wanted it somewhere off to the side if I ever needed GPS. Would the Pro-Clip solution (pictured above) be better?
