Sirius XM Nav Traffic and Weather Out

I renewed my XM Traffic and Weather package and everything was working fine until yesterday. Now I am getting no traffic or weather data on the nav screen.

Is anyone else seeing an outage of data? Do I have to reset the whole unit? Who do I even call, the dealer or SiriusXM? The Nav says I am receiving XM signal.

I'd start by calling Sirius-XM and have them re-ping your unit. I had the same problem when I went from the free 3 months service to subscription. It took a couple of calls to get it going but, in the end, did work out.

Mine was out Friday afternoon as well. On the Info screen it stated "No Service Available". Have not tried it today.

This can be done online now. If you have a smartphone you can do this whilst sitting in your car.

I lost Nav Traffic service, the only service I've subscribed to, on May 9, the day Sirius made some programming changes. Refreshes haven't been effective for me. I called Listener Care and was eventually passed to Technical Support, which mentioned that they had a long list of Acura owners reporting lost service. I'm expecting a call from Technical Support during the next 7--10 days to walk me through an over-the-air update to my radio's software.

My traffic service has stopped working also. It actually started Thursday night for me. I'm out of town now. I will check again on Sunday. If it is still out, I'm calling XM!

I call Acura Care. They can conference in with SiriusXM to take care of those kind of issues.

Does Sirius XM radio entitle you to all the weather and the traffic?

I pay $29.99 for 6 months of Sirius, but really have not checked or had time to take it to the dealer for the "Activation is not complete" message.

Yes, you will need to buy their data plan which is like $7 more a month. The Activation is not complete message is for the Acura Care stuff; basically communicates with the Acura servers to remind you of any issues or maintenance due for your car without you or the Acura dealer having to contact you from what was told to me. It'll appear on the Navi screen.

My weather and traffic is was/is out too. Called xm and they did a refresh. I'm getting traffic and some weather data. I'm going to check this morning to see if there are any changes.

Mine hasn't worked the last few days either. I've had issues ever since I got the car in March. My biggest issue is that sirius and xm have been one company for the last 6 years and their coverage is completely different between units. Do any of you have a sirius unit with traffic updates in another car? The sirius coverage of traffic is amazing for my area. Then I get in my TL and they don't even cover route 78 as soon as you exit the Holland Tunnel. lol. what a joke. I won't be renewing.

That is the strange part. Now my weather is working, but it shows no "last update" time. My traffic is still out. I've been too lazy to refresh the Radio ID to see if that corrects either issue. Guess I will logon and try it now.

Spoke with Sirius XM reps. yesterday (5/11/13) regarding the problems with NavTraffic & NavWeather. After much runaround, finally got to "advanced" tech. support who indicated they are having "issues" with signals to TL's & MDX's. Refreshing does not seem to work. Suggest all who are having problems contact Sirius XM and Acura Customer Care so they feel extra pressure to get this problem solved. Also request refund for days not working - mine hasn't worked properly since Thursday!

^^^^ Thanks. I have spent hours on the phone with xm. They do know of the problem but no fix as yet. Right NOW, I have traffic and SOME weather. I have no 3 day forcast, nor an updated weather time. I can see radar data. XM HAS GIVEN ME CREDIT. I'm still pissed, with all the phone time I put in. If anyone gets any updates, please post.

Same issue here.. No Traffic and weather.. Spent hours with XM Support and their advanced technical support, but they could not fix the problem.. Hope this issue gets fixed soon..

XM issue Not Acura

I spent most of friday on the phone with sirusxm trying to get it fixed. They where able to get it working for my drive home from work...but hasn't worked since.

I was at the acura dealer this weekend and the service guy told me it's an issue with all acura's. XM was blaming acura at first....but then back peddled and said it was a XM issue. I guess an upgrade to the system on XM's side is causing the outage. He said that XM would be sending a letter/email to address the issue and give a possible fix.

I wish Acura and Sirius/XM would stop playing the blame game and fix the issue. I was able to get a $11 credit. I did speak to tech support. They are aware. The issue is Sirius/XM keeps issues so secret, they don't tell the techs what the issue is, or when it will be fixed.

Fix has been found - mine is working again. It is/was isolated to select Acura vehicles.

Here is what I did. Forget regular listener care, they are worthless. You need digital listener care - they actually care and will help you. Send an email with your Radio ID & Account # to sxm_help@siriusxm.com. Include a good phone number where you can be reached. Someone should call you back, I got a call within 1 hour of sending the email.

They will do some quick/basic troubleshooting. Once this does not work the key to fixing is as follows:

They must completely remove/deactivate your radio from the system. Once you confirm it's off and only getting preview programming they add the radio back. Once it updates and audio returns the traffic and weather follow about 2-5 minutes later.

MAKE 100% SURE you ask the rep. to check your account for promotions before you do this!! Since they are removing the radio you are getting credited for unused time and they start a new programming package. You need to ensure they see what plan/package/promotion you are on so they add it back properly.

Mine hasn't been working either. I did an online refresh with no resolution. Then did an online chat -Their response is my radio is working fine and I don't have the nav traffic or weather package, and never did. In fact, I've had it since 2009. These people are as bad as Comcast for service.

So, if you go to weather, do you see a time the weather was updated? If not, its not working.

I just sent a email and waiting to see what happens. I think I talk to these people before and there was no resolution. I have traffic working but no data is received for weather.

Same issue here as well.

Spent hours with SiriusXM support today. They completely deleted my account and service and started from the beginning. They had me shut the car off for a few minutes and turn it back on. I no longer had service except for channel 1 (XM Preview). They re-added my radio code to the system, I got radio service, but still no traffic or weather. The rep informed me this is a known issue with all HD-based Acuras and he will have someone call me with a solution. Still waiting for a call. Based on their horrible customer service, I doubt I'll get a call back.

I'll just have to wait and see.

XM Nav Traffic out

I have a 2012 TL with a traffic subscription but not weather. My XM Nav Traffic went out last Friday (May 10). The radio continued to work fine. I tried to refresh traffic via the online web page instructions but no luck. Then I called XM Listener Care. They refreshed and traffic came back for about one minute. When it went out again, I called again. The second time it it didn't come back at all and they connected me with "advanced technical support". The technician there couldn't get it going and said he was "writing up a ticket" to have the problem handled at an even higher level. Finally he said that I didn't need a "ticket", that they knew about the issue which is Acura-specific, and hope to have a fix within the next two or three days. He said to call back and gave me a number which supposedly will get me directly to "advanced" if the system isn't restored by then. All of this took about two hours. When I complained about the wasted time, they gave me four free months on my contract. Hopefully, it will all work out!

Update:

Mine is out again. Was working fine yesterday once they deleted the radio and added it back. This morning everything was gone. No traffic information available and no data available on the weather.

Same Here....Traffic and weather have been out for the last few days....

If you go into the menu and check reception, the Nav screen in the car says it is receiving OK, but no data for traffic or weather when you access it....

Tried re-pinging twice, does not help....their signal is screwed up and they need to fix it.....

This thing is all over the board. I had full traffic back this morning together with current weather - but no forecast. I have not called support nor had the account removed and replaced. All I did was send a refresh myself once on Saturday - which did not fix anything at the time. It might be best to just sit back and wait, it would appear that it needs fixing at the broadcast end.

I contacted them via email but have not gotten a reply. I will call them today - someone up in the thread noted they received a number that would put them directly to the "advanced" customer service; care to share that number or at least PM it to me?

I had traffic this morning for a few minutes but then it went out again and wouldn't come back on. At this point I don't expect customer service to be able to flick a switch and make it better, but I do want a record of my efforts to contact them and fix the issue so that I can haggle my way to some free service for this ridiculous mess they created.
