Damn I put xm in my work truck and got stuck at 180.00 something a year. About to pick up 07 TL-S and want to add 2nd to my account. Is there anyway to drop traffic/weather and then pick up 2nd unit??? I got raped lol.

Called to cancell period. On hold for 25min twice and they hung up each time because I would not take the offer (5mo for $25). This is the my third call. Wonder if the Oregon Attorney General will work with Washington AG on my complaint. I will be recording this call.

So I called yesterday to ask about working out a deal...
AND GUESS WHAT!?!? I got raped too. The girl I spoke with the other day only cancelled my auto renew, NOT my actual subscription. So after the 5 months at $20 was up on 5/11/11...I had a past due of $185ish.
I was prepared for a fight, told them the name of the girl I spoke with, that she didn't close my account and that I was not offered and promotions. They transferred me to retention department. Spoke to the nicest Canadian girl named Kendra. Not even a blink of a problem...she said "don't worry, you don't owe us anything". She also divulged that the person you speak with gets "dinged" for losing a customer...so a lot of them just pretend to misundstand and only cancel the auto pay, not the subscription.
That said, she immediately offered to cancel it, or cut it in half...namely $77/year or $85 with taxes/royalties. I asked about Stern, because I miss hearing him. $111/year WITH Stern (some super XM-Sirius package). I said, for $25 extra bucks a year, it'd be worth hearing my boy Howard again. Decidedly, her customer service skill is what made me NOT cancel and keep the service. Plus, it was a good deal and I DO love XM.
Only downside is my I-simple makes my radio go crazy when plugged in...but only when I switch to XM. SO...I disconnected it for the time being.

just renewed, couldnt get past the royalty fee though...
I got a flyer in the mail last week for $77 with a waived activation fee, but followed the script just to see if it worked with the flyer handy.
im cancelling in a year unless they give the $77 deal again.
my flyer had a web site as well, http://www.xmradio.com/backtoxm

they will offer the same deal in a year, the key is to make sure you're NOT on auto renewal/auto pay so they HAVE to send you some offers asking you to stay on with them. The girl I spoke with was very sweet and told me I could do it every year.
#368
Yes, get off the auto pay. We switched banks and were waiting for the call/bill from XM. Trouble is now that the service is canceled, our $60 credit goes to the OLD card.

They were pretty accomodating, man...call them up and see what they can do for you. Just make sure they transfer you to the retention department...regular sales dept is supposed to tell you they aren't sure what you're talking about. Prepare to wait 15+ minutes on hold...worth it, in the end though..

This is a weird one and totally my fault but it worked out just fine. I have been doing this since 2007, everytime with the $77 a year plan - have become quite good at this :-)
Anyway, I absolutely had a brain fart and forgot to call before the promotional period ended so i got slapped with the quarterly charge of $46, the only good thing about that was they had and old credit card on file which i had cancelled about a year ago. Due to my work schedule and projects i really didnt have time to call them until today, about 3 weeks late into the quarter and a couple of voicemail requesting updated payment info.
I had to wait about 10 minutes on the phone which irritated me but when i got through this really sweet lady answered - i straight out requested a cancellation willing to pay whatever i owed. She asked me if i really liked the service to which i responded yes, so out of left field she said, you have a really nice, sweet voice young man, im guessing you are on your mid 20's (i am 25 :-| ) so naturally i blushed lol. She told me she'll wave all the pending charges and give me the same 77 a year plan. I honestly didnt expect that, i mean, im ignoring their calls, ready to cancel and she throws that curve ball at me. I had to say yes, but honestly, without a clue as to why exactly. i didnt want XM anymore so i didnt care about it but somehow, i got another year.
Thats the story that made my day today, and all because someone made me feel today - a hostile customer by their standards nonetheless - like a valued customer.

Almost a good deal
I have 3 radios with XM, My wifes TSX, My TL and a Pioneer Portable... Called earlier today and got someone in India, and that was a DEAD END, no deal of any kind just full price or pay each quarter. .. I tried everything to no end!
Called back 3 hours later and got an American, , and she immediately gave me the $77 on the Pioneer and TSX.. On my TL I also have Nav and Traffic, so she was not willing to give me the $77 unless I wanted to drop Nav-Traffic... I asked her if she can you sweeten up the deal and recommended they give me Internet access for 12 months for Free! She hesitated and I said, "I rather not have to talk to a supervisor".. She said I have no promotions allowing me to do that.... I said, LOOK, I will give you my credit card but please do not have me down for Auto Renewal, Just Un-Check that box on your computer screen.. She said Please wait, came back in 2 minutes, and said you are not set up for automatic renewal... I was happy!

Gave them a call. They offered the $85/yr ($77 + MR). No other promotions, e.g. 5 or 6 month, were available. Tried getting internet access thrown in but no success. Called the retention number directly, but she wasn't in the US, although she wasn't (or at least didn't sound) from India either...maybe the Caribbean? It was amusing because she kept talking in cents as opposed to dollars i.e. 8512 cents for yearly service. I had to concentrate to make sure I was getting the discount offer.
As an aside, if you are not on auto renewal, don't they charge you an extra $2 for "paper billing"?

May be a little off topic - mods feel free to move - but did anyone else receive notification of the Satellite Radio Settlement from Sirius XM? I can post what I received if there is interest. Talks about freezing pricing of their base subscription plan for the balance of 2011 and other things.

Here it is -
If You Subscribed to Sirius, XM, or Sirius XM Radio
You Could Get Benefits From a Class Action Settlement
Para una notificación en Español, llamar 1-800-760-6247 o visitar www.SatelliteRadioSuit.com
Read this message carefully. Records show you subscribed to Sirius XM Radio. We are sending this e-mail to tell you about the proposed Settlement of a class action that may affect your legal rights. Go to www.SatelliteRadioSuit.com for a detailed notice about the proposed Settlement. There is a class action lawsuit against Sirius XM concerning the July 28, 2008 merger that created Sirius XM. The lawsuit claims this merger violated federal antitrust laws and that Sirius XM raised its prices as a result of the merger. Sirius XM denies it did anything wrong.
Who's Included? You are included in the Class if you were a Sirius, XM, or Sirius XM subscriber anytime from July 29, 2008 to July 5, 2011 and you paid: (1) the U.S. Music Royalty Fee; or (2) a monthly multi-radio charge of $8.99; or (3) a $2.99 monthly Internet access charge if you previously did not pay to access Sirius XM's content over the Internet.
What Does the Settlement Provide? Under this proposed Settlement, Sirius XM has agreed it will not raise the price of its base subscription plan and certain other prices through the end of 2011. Additionally, subscribers with long term plans (excluding lifetime subscriptions) will be permitted to restart their plan at current rates before December 31, 2011. After approval of the Settlement, former subscribers will also be permitted to either (a) reconnect their satellite radio without paying a reactivation fee and receive one month of service at no cost; or (b) receive one month of Sirius XM Internet streaming service at no cost. The estimated value of the Settlement is $180 million. The Settlement does not provide for cash payments to the Class.
How to Get Benefits? Current subscribers scheduled to renew before December 31, 2011 do not need to do anything. Current subscribers who are scheduled to renew after December 31, 2011 and who want to restart their long term plan at current rates as well as former subscribers who want to reconnect service or receive streaming service should go to www.siriusxm.com/blessingclassaction.
What Are Your Options? If you do not want to be legally bound by the Settlement, you must exclude yourself from it. The deadline to exclude yourself is July 5, 2011. If you do not exclude yourself, you will release all claims against Sirius XM concerning any conduct arising out of, based on, or relating to the merger that created Sirius XM. If you stay in the Settlement Class, you may object to it by July 11, 2011. The detailed notice, available at the website or by calling the toll-free number, tells you how to exclude yourself or object. The Court will hold a hearing on August 8, 2011, to consider whether to approve the Settlement and a request by Class Counsel for attorneys' fees and costs up to $13 million, plus interest. You may appear at the hearing, but you don't have to. You may also hire your own attorney, at your own expense, to appear or speak for you at the hearing, but you don't have to.
Do not call or write to Judge Baer for information.

On the phone with them now. Calling to stop the Auto-renewal. Was offered the radio at $77. I also wanted to get the traffic and weather renewed. This seems to be a problem for the representative I spoke to. He was unable to find any packages that he could offer that had traffic and weather available. He was unable to even charge me the 77 on the radio and add traffic and weather at full price. The only package he could find would put me at $219 for the full year. Well my service is set to be cancelled on the 9th of July. Once it gets cancelled I will try again.

well you still pay every month...just not as much
and yeah, it's not just the girls...when I meet people and talk to them, I can usually tell if they were born and raised in the USA. We are in a rush have a sense of entitlement, fear touch and showing too much compassion. Wasn't born here, but was raised here....and I know what you mean.

Just got the $77/yr. promo and I actually got the guy to give me that same price for the auto-renewal as well. I just asked him if there I were going to be getting "more flyers" in the mail for that promo again and he said most likely. I then asked him if he could authorize that same price for the $77/yr. for my auto-renewal and he said no problem. That way I wouldn't have to call again for the promo with the flier next year.

Before your next auto-renewal I would check to see what they plan to charge you. Once they take the money out of your account is very hard to get a refund from them.

I hope you got that in writing or they e-mailed you confirmation on that. You do know that after music royality fees, taxes, etc. that $77.00 is about $88.00

Just got off the phone with XM and told them I wanted to cancel since my renewal invoice showed $44 for 3 months of service.
Without hesitation they offered to renew me again for the $77 per year that I had.

Although I traded in my 2005 six speed TL several months ago on a 2011 Nissan 370Z (touring coupe six speed sport) this Forum came through again with the best information around on the XM half price deal. It worked for my 370Z and I've utilized the format suggested on my wife''s 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan (traded in a 2003 TL-s) for two consecutive years now.
I used the 800-347-0600 phone number today to get the half price deal for the 370Z.

I called today and asked for the $77 promotion and they were forthcoming about it, but I asked if I would keep my premium package at that rate. Apparently the $77 only covers XM, but for $111 you get all the Sirius channels too. I went with $111.
