Hey guys,

So the 2002 Acura CL-S has finally been laid to rest. I went ahead and purchased a 2012 Acura TL w/ the tech package. Has anyone has a remote start installed on one of these? I was looking at getting the following system installed.

Viper SmartStart Remote Start System - VSS3001 - Abt

My only concerns were on my CL-S I had one installed and it made the car act funny. Will the Acuras accept aftermarket remote starts? Or is this not possible with our vehicles. Thanks!

I was also thinking about installing one of those in my car, but after looking at a couple of threads(below) I changed my mind. It looks like some members are having issues with the firmware of the viper module and this is throwing error codes on the dash. I also don't like the fact that the car shuts off when you open the door if the remote start is on. It should have been designed to shut off if the key is not inside and the brake pedal is pressed.

Mr. Magoo those were very informative! I am going to talk to my installer about this in more detail tomorrow to see if the problem has been fixed. If so I will make sure to post here.
