Rear camera, no can see while driving?

Hi all, just put a pioneer system in my truck with rear camera, the system will allow me to view out the back while driving, wish the TL would.

Im guessing Acura doesnt do this for a safety precaution, to avoid someone messing with it while driving.

Don't really see the use of looking out back while going in the opposite direction. That screen has more important things to display.

You can bring up the rear-view camera while driving using the hidden diagnostics menu. You hold down Map, Menu, and Cancel buttons at the same for a few seconds to bring up the menu. I don't remember how to get to the exact option from there, just explore, it's under Monitor diagnostics somewhere I think.

That's actually pretty neat. I've never known about this. But, it's a lot of steps while you're behind the wheel.

I can think of one use for it, actually. During the snowstorm we had in the DC area a couple days ago, just about everyone got stuck in epic traffic going home. So, sitting still in heavy snow, the accumulation on the rear window overtook the ability of the defroster to melt it and eventually I couldn't see out the rear at all. Would have been nice to know how to turn the rear camera on at that point.

Just found it. Pretty cool. Got into it while parked then drove around the block. The camera was on the whole time. Took 4 or 5 steps but there are tons of other interesting things to click on while in that mode.

Why? Keeping track of the bad guys tailing you? Are James Bond or something?

I don't think it's in the 3G Diag Menu.
