Person calling isn't popping up, just number (iPhone 4)
My phone was working fine the first few months, I imported my phone directory, and when someone would call. The name would pop-up on my screen (tech package).
The last month or so, when someone calls, just the phone # will pop-up on my screen. I reimported all my phone #'s and that didn't seem to fix it.
Obviously I'd like to know who's calling and not their phone #.
Any help to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated!

I have an iPhone 4 and noticed this also.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the phone, but I don't think Apple did an update to it recently. I noticed this late last week.

I'm with you though, I don't like seeing just the number since I don't know who it is half of the time.

I've noticed this as well, doing some searching it almost seems like its a bug in the system as its just inconsistent for me at this point... sometimes I get a name, sometimes I don't.

This just started happening to me a few weeks ago. It worked after both of the iOS5 updates. Then suddenly stopped and just shows the number. Maybe Apple pushed a silent update? I haven't tried re-syncing, but the numbers are all still in my phone book.

Delete your phone from the system. Re-pair it, resend the address book to the car.

Did anybody figure out a solution?
I have deleted my phone from the system, and resent the address book (2-3 times). It seems to work for a few days, then the names will stop showing and only the phone numbers.

I deleted the phone and address book and did a total new re-sync - same issue still
I don't get what changed to now only show numbers instead of the names (I guess its an Iphone update thing?)

This probably isn't the same as your issue since it's worked before, but I noticed I had to add a 1 at the beginning of my contacts phone numbers in order for their name to show when they call...otherwise it was just the number.

I'm having the same trouble with my 2012 and also can't get the phone tags to work unless I press the call button 3 times
Went to the dealer on Friday they said they think that's the way it works but are going to look into it. Pretty sad that my 2008 BMW 3 press once say name and voila will see if they get back to me.

I just synced my phone this evening. I have a 4G Iphone. I was playing around with the the HFL and noticed, to my surprise, the number was the only thing that popped up when receiving a call. I too, would rather see the person who is calling me...I don't know phone numbers. I just bought a new 2012 TL-Tech Package. I wonder if it is an Apple thing. Anyone solve this --from reading other posts it seems the name should be what shows on the screen.
