iPhone 6 plus + TL tech package
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted.
So I got the iPhone 6 plus on Friday and I've been messing around with it and it seems like the radio doesn't always pick up the music. It does recognize that there is an iPod connected but it won't bring up the music. I've tried restarting the car and iPhone. Nothing.
I wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem. Maybe there's a setting in the phone to tell it how to behave when it's connected? Am I doing something wrong?

I had this problem occur once and a while with my 4S as well. Had to unplug it and plug it back in and then it would usually work second time. My 6 seems fine, but given it was an occasional issue before, it probably is the same here.

Yea....I had it with my 4 and then the 5 was good and now it seems like its back. ive been messing with it and it seems like it only happens under certain conditions. Im sure its not the car at this point.

Had the same problem today
My 2010 TL w/Technology package see's the ipod (displays "IPOD" on dash) but does not play music. I can play through bluetooth streaming audio, but I don't get the song information displayed.
I'll investigate this more at lunchtime today and see if I can overcome this obstacle. Anyone have any success with the issue?
thanks

Seems like this problem is intermittent...
I've gotten the car to recognize the phone, just not consistently. Took me a dozen tries last night but cycling through ipod, BT audio, HDD several times, and unplugging and plugging in my phone several times, I finally got it all to work. Pretty annoying though.

Iphone5 here with the latest OS. Same story. I plug it in via the USB connector and its not doing anything. But, only when I hit next song and then previous song from the iphone music app it sends the sound to the head unit. Very annoying. My previous iphone 4 with its original OS use to be just fine.
So if you plug it in and does nothing, go to music app and hit play (if not already in play mode) then next/previous song and see if you can recreate my solution? (please keep your eyes on the road!)
PS. I suspect apple has beefed up a lot of security features on the new OS, including restrictions on how music is played when in lock mode.

iPhone 6 Plus with latest iOS is working fine connected through USB on my 2012. Bluetooth streaming works when it wants to but doesn't display data and sound quality blows.

quit ur other apps
Before I traded in my iPhone5 for a OnePlus One two weeks ago, I would encounter this problem frequently.
To fix it, I would quit all open apps, disconnect the USB and then reconnect it...
