Incoming calls not recognized by name on iPhone or BB
Probably something simple I can't figure out but here goes:
I have Iphone 5 and a Blackberry paired to my Bluetooth in 2012 TL. All of my contacts in the phones are labeled such as "Bob Cell" etc.
However, when the calls come in over the cars Bluetooth, only a number comes through such as 215 ..... and the name does not come across.
If some of you are like me, I don't always recognize just someone's numbers since we are so used to just using contacts. I'm not sure why if all my contacts are listed by name and number in phones, why does it only come across as a number on my Bluetooth system in car?
Hope I explained this right.
Thanks in advance

Not sure about an iPhone or Blackberry, but I found on my Android phone I had to edit all my numbers and save them as 1 555-123-4567 then reimport my phonebook.
Numbers like (555) 123-4567 or 5551234567 without the 1 or dashes will not read the names on my nav screen. Not sure if your car is Tech or Base

Not sure why you are having this issue. My 2009 and iphone 5 shows name and number. You might want to try deleting your phone and repairing. Also make sure you have the latest 6.1 firmware.

I had the same problem as rmjse. It's an easy test to see if you are as well. Just change one number in your phone (i.e. add the 1 before it) and then re-import and have that person call you. It worked for me.
Good luck!

New iOS 6.1.2 Update
Most Apple/iPhone folks will know that Apple updated the software for the iPhone and iPads yesterday. New number is: 6.1.2.
Major issue was battery life in iPhone 5, i.e. continually accessing Exchange. I updated my iPhone 4S and it's just fine with the TL BT system after the update. I hope it's the same for the 5.

i have a all my contacts synced with google, is there a faster way to change the numbers to that format rather than manually editing each and every contact?

Hi all -
I've had the same problem with several different phones - dumb phone and Android - on two different TL Techs (2009 and 2013). I've tried all sorts of combinations of stored numbers and names. Even my dealer's service department has thrown up his hands and said it probably doesn't work with Android.
I'd sure like to know if anyone has made this work properly with an Android.

From my experience, the dealers dont know that much about the cars themselves let alone phones and the tech with em.
cell phone companies used to operate on the regular xxx-xxxx basis, but when they started running out of phone numbers to give ppl, they implemented the xxx-xxx-xxxx layout. where you needed to enter the area code before dialing. and i assume they added the country code, +1 for the states, automatically when we dialed. our phones dont have to have the number saved as x-xxx-xxx-xxxx (phone number with the country code at front), but theyll know its someone calling from the US, and it pops up on our caller id. Our cars on the other hand are probably a basic system, which reads the number directly with the country code at front, and when a phone number doesnt match up, because of the +1 country code, it reads out the number on the screen instead of the saved number. We have to change all our numbers to the system it recognizes, delete the current phonebook in the car and reupload the new numbers.
To test out which format you need, get someones phone, delete there number from your car and phone and give yourself a call using their phone. see if it comes up +1(XXX)xxx-xxx or just 1(xxx)xxx-xxxx. set up the rest of the numbers according to that format.
