I-001: Disable Guidance Voice Only?
Does anyone know of a way to disable the route guidance voice without disabling the voice feedback for the entire car?
For example:
I don't want to hear turn-by-turn directions
I DO want to hear the system respond when I ask "What time is it?" or "Play iPod"
If you mute the voice in setup then it disables all voice for all features!
Any help is much appreciated!

There's Interface Dial Feedback (IDF), pg 94
Interface Dial Feedback
This setting allows you to control
when (and if) the system will read the
current selection you choose with the
Interface Dial. The purpose of this
feature is to minimize the need to look
at the screen while operating the dial.
You can set the one of the three settings
explained in the following table. The
factory default is AUTO.
Setting Degree of assistance
ON When selection is made,
the system always reads
what is selected.
AUTO
(factory default)
The system reads
selection only when
moving
OFF No voice assistance
when selecting.
And Voice Recognition Feedback (VRF), pg 102
Voice Recognition Feedback
Allows you to turn voice control system
prompts ON or OFF. When OFF, you
will not hear the voice control system
confi rmations or prompts.
I think what you're asking are one in the same, so no. I have my VRF on so it tells me directions but I have the IDF off so it doesn't repeat everything else I select, which is annoying.
