HFL testing results for placing call from phone through HFL
So last night I went to the dealership in order to do some troubleshooting. I paired my BB Storm 9530 with the following vehicles in order to test out placing a call directly from my phone and having it automatically switch to HFL without having to transfer. Very aggravating to a lot of us, especially to those of us that this function worked on older vehicles.
The settings on my BB Storm 9530 are as follows.
Be sure when pairing to always have your phone "Search" instead of "Listen"
FWIW: By having my BB "Search" during the initial pairing, instead of "Listen", I am able to utilize the contacts transfer, call waiting and AD2P Blue tooth music functions. These features are listed as "Not Available" for the BB Storm 9530 on the Acura HFL compatibility site, and they did not work for me until I paired the phone using "Search".
Under Bluetooth options on the phone,
Discoverable: Yes (obviously)
Allow Outgoing Calls: Always
Contacts Transfer: All Entries
LED Connection Indicator: Off (personal preference for me)
Security Level: High
Connect on Power Up: Yes (enabling this allowed me to call from the phone directly through the HFL on the RDX and TSX without having to "transfer")
Under Device Properties for Bluetooth connection to vehicle.
Trusted: Yes
Encryption: Disabled
Echo Control: Automatic
2010 TSX Base: Yes
2 different 2010 RDX Tech: Yes
2008 MDX Tech: No (my wifes old MDX)
2009 MDX Base: No
2010 MDX Tech: No
2010 TL Tech: No (my vehicle)
2010 ZDX Tech: No (my wifes vehicle)
So does anyone know what the difference would be between the TSX/RDX and the rest of the vehicles? Why does this work only on those two vehicles?
I find it somewhat aggravating that this function works on the lower end models but not on the higher end models.
