HFL talk button not working

Hi guys,

Just picked up a 2009 TL Base yesterday and I couldn't connect to the bluetooth. HFL button and call end button aren't responsive. When I scroll to the HandsFree Link and click more options it says no information available.

Any solutions?

Thanks in advance

Did you try pairing to your car first? Then it should detect your HandsFreeLink.

Not related to this fix but one thing I highly recommend you is to reset settings by going to Set Up > Other > #5 Reset Factory Default and #6 Clear Personal Data since you just got this car from someone else. Also, try holding the HandsFreeLink button under the volume up/down button on the steering wheel and see if it works. Sadly, If it still doesn't work, then I can only think that the previous owners unplugged the HandsFreeLink cable on the garage opener assembly to save battery or something as these models have a history of draining batteries overnight with the HandsFreeLink, and they just wanted to be safe by unplugging it. Lastly,
should be helpful to check why it is not working for you, not complicated.

appreciate your help Nick. Most likely selling this car as I just bought another 09 TL 3.5 today and Bluetooth audio works on that one so I’m happy about that. Cheers

Press it until Bluetooth comes up, mine takes a few tries when it randomly switches to FM a few times every winter when it's really cold out.
