HDD question

Is there any way to manually change album titles or genre information in the HDD? I have a lot classical CD's, and almost half of the ones I've read into the HDD so far have not been identified by Gracenote. So I'm left with a lot of albums and tracks with no titles, and whose genre is listed as 'other'. The only thing I've managed to do so far is to change track titles. Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, you can and I have done it. Sad to I cannot remember the steps. Should be in your manual.

If i recall, push down on the "knob" while playing a track, and then rotate the knob to "Edit Track Info", then just follow along. It is in the manual. A laborious process, to be sure. With the Gracenote updates we get, though, it's sadly necessary.

I actually sent an email in to Navtec to simply ask why their version of Gracenote sucks so much, when it works for iTunes and other applications (my phone recognizes everything through Gracemote, but not the car). Surprisingly, they got back to me with :

"Thank you for contacting AcuraNavigation Center . We do apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you. To resolve your issue, case ######## has been escalated for further review. Once a resolution has been given, you will be contacted with the appropriate information. If you would like to check the status at any time please have your case number available for the fastest response. "

Thanks. Yes, it sucks. I too have managed to change track names by the method you describe. It's laborious, as you say. But I see no way to change the name of an entire album/original playlist, or to change its genre, both which would be much more helpful in my case.

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove the HDD that's installed in the vehicle? Maybe there's a way to access the files within the HDD and manually edit the mp3 tag information or the file names.

I've found the answer to my question. It's in the 2014 Owners Manual, p. 345, for models w/navi. The section is called "Changing the Musical Genre". I guess it really does pay to RTFM.
