GPS solution for car without Tech package?
Hi all
I am new to the TL and this forum, so I thought that I may get some help here
I've purchased a 2010 TL, without the tech package, and now I am feeling the lack of the GPS (wish I would buy one with the tech package...oh well).
So I was wondering if it is feasible to go to a shop and get an upgrade to have the gps color screen in dash, like the one that comes with the tech package, or if I am better off using a standard tomtom or garmin.
If the second solution is the most convenient; is there any particular solution that allows me to have the gps mounted somewhere other than on the windshield? Where I live it is pretty common that they break glass when they see any kind of support attached to the windshield, so I would like something that is discreet enough to be removed when I don't use the GPS unit.
I've looked at the other posts but I have found solutions for older models, and since the design of the console is different I am not sure that it may work.
Thanks in advance!

get a gps integrated rear view mirror.. something like this
http://www.navigadget.com/?s=rear+view+mirror
its pretty discrete.. my cousin has one and only way to tell it is there is when its on.. otherwise its a full mirror..
take out your stock one and replace it with this.
i think this is by far the best you can get... clean and simple..
also comes with back up camera.

Thanks! Btw I realized later that the car that I purchased is a 2009, and has the tech package...the 2010 that I went for was gone just when I went to the dealer....good for me!
