Gosher's Blind Spot Monitoring System: Install and Pics
Yup, exactly the same thing here, the area where I live all the mercs seems to have the BSI system... It's a pain until I get onto the highway. Seeing as this system doesn't cause any issues, I might be installing it soon. Thanks for the pics.
Packagingpro or anyone else on this thread...Thinking about a 2014 RDX but the Blind Spot Indicator system is not an option. When I asked a dealer if they would install one, they said it would void the factory warranty for the entire car (was quoted as a technicality Acura could invoke if they wanted to). Has anyone installed the Goshers system on an RDX and if so, how does it work? Did you get someone to install it - and if so, about how much $$?

Stealership BullShit
Since the BSI system is not available as a standalone option, there will not be any empty connectors and/or plug sockets that can be used as for a normal plug-and-play install.
If the dealership has to cut and splice into the factory wiring in order to install the BSI system, then Honda has all the right reasons to void the warranty.

All: Thanks for your input. I drove a TL with factory BSI (as a loaner while mine was in the shop). Appreciate the risks and the perspective of the dealer. Had never heard of entire warranty being voided for an aftermarket install. Good thing I never had to test this...
Has anybody tried the DrivSafe Kit?
I just picked up a set of these sensors going to try them out anyone else have any experience with them? The kit looks great! I will show some progress pics one I have it installed! They gave me a killer deal when I emailed them about $50 cheaper than Goshers!

Great thread/information. Thank you! Just leased '14 ILX and planning to have local Car Works in Delray Beach install the premium Goshers system. Do you know if the OEM indicators you used would be compatible for ILX? Did you order/buy them at a local dealer or order them directly from Acura? Also, even though you installed the back sensors correctly, looks like you are suggesting placing them further towards the back bumper -- is that right?
Thanks again!
My Acura dealer (Delray Acura/Hyundai) referred me to the local shop for install of the Goshers BSM system and when I asked, said it would not void factory warranty -- perhaps because they referred and also use the same shop?
Thanks again!

That is the exact same system as the Goshers!
Ken,
The install is easy. The indicators would not be compatible with the ILX, my were the factory OEM for the TL. I would place them far back on the bumper to be more effective. I still like my system, no perfect though!

Great post, thanks for the info and pics! I am installing the Encore BSD4 Blind Spot Detection Parking Assist System and Im having problems getting my front sensors harness pass thru the firewall? Can you please tell me how you did it or post some pictures?
I have been using the system for 1 week now. Overall it's great, but the system has one major draw back which may be a deal breaker for most. The Blind Spot Detection does not pick up on coming vehicles until they have already reached the blind spot. The factory systems pick this up at least one or 2 car lengths before it gets into the blind spot. I thought originally, it might be a sensitivity issue because I painted the sensors with Metallic Base Coat and a Clear. I spoke to Gosher's Customer Service and they immediately sent me 4 new sensors at no charge. When I installed them, there was no difference. I do have some tricks up my sleeve that I am working on, with tweaks. I will keep you posted!
